About This Game

Real Warfare 2: Northern Crusades is the next installment in this series of realistic real-time strategy games covering various periods in the development of the present day civilization – from the Middle Ages to today. This new title helps players witness the key events in the history of the Teutonic Order in 13th century, namely conquering the pagan Prussia. All battles form a single storyline campaign. The player will act as a Komtur of the Teutonic Order as they relive the battles of the crusaders, regardless of the low manpower of the Order and the strong resistance of the heathens.
The project perfectly comprises two types of gameplay and owing to that the objectives of the Komtur are not simply limited to participation in battles. The strategic map involves the gamer into a colorful and integral world and allows them to travel around the map in the real time. The mode features full freedom of movement, dialogues with locals, RPG elements, quest system and much more. However, sooner or later, the players will have no other choice other than engage their faithful warriors into a battle. And this could be a combat with other armies, large-scale sieges of towns and castles, using various special assault weaponry and tools and fight right on top the walls and fortifications.

Key features:

  • RPG system. Troops gain experience throughout the campaign and carry it over from battle to battle.
  • Combat system. A unique combat system, dependent on up to 80 game factors. Moral component of the combat system evaluates the battlefield situation every second to bring the simulation of combat behavior for the “living” warriors as close to reality as possible.
  • Unprecedented scale. Real Warfare 2: Northern Crusades features not only really large-scale battles with more than 10,000 warriors engaged, but impressive and unprecedentedly vast actions during the siege and defense of towns and castles, using various special assault weaponry and tools and fight right on top the walls and fortifications.
  • Freedom of actions. Variable modifiers consider the environment a unit is battling in and make the game tactically versatile.
  • Two gameplay modes. The game now features a strategic map, where the player can travel around the world and interact with various characters; however the battles will be carried out in the well-known tactical mode.
  • Network game. Apart from the storyline campaign the game features several diverse multiplayer modes. From 2 up to 6 gamers can participate in a battle at a dedicated Internet server. The results are stored in online Hall of Fame.
  • State-of-the-art graphics. Graphics engine used in the game provide for the highest level of details. Historically correct armor and weaponry, realistic animation and battle scenes, which correspond to the specific period – Real Warfare 2: Northern Crusades depicts the 13th century in great details.

Combines Mount & Blade with Total War; kinda like the Red Orchestra 2 of strategy games.

A unique and underrated title from a studio that went under before bugs were fixed.

Buy it on sale you won't be dissapointed.

really nice game... it has inovation... really has a lot of potential...
But for now crashes ... crashes ... and more crashes...

Update:
There are not more update so far... and look like the company already "dissapear" ... so this is a death game, don't buy and hope that they are going to fix everything...

This game really have the potential to be better than Total War Roma... but they just give up.

The game really crash and quick you out all the time, from doing nothing to just a single click... Don't buy it.

I really like this game it is a good alternative to medieval total war 2. It has good map layout and better battle graphics . The battles are alot of fun espeacially the way the calvary charges and they dont just stop like an ♥♥♥♥♥ like in mtw2. The controls are really easy and the open world is a cool addition to the series.

Great game: battles are fluid, and the AI is stunning. The campaign scales very well and is both challenging and enjoyable. If your units don't show initiative, it is not the AI's fault, check you unit stats; also upgrade your commander skill for your lead troops. The HUD is intuitive and easy to follow. I highly recommend this game to any strategy-lovers.

Good game , the battle is just like the previous title which has almost perfect system for historic tactical battles, it refined a bit and feels more fluid especially the camera control. The nice add to this title is the camapign map which is played like Mount & blade system, all in real time, where you can recruit & upgrade your army, and also trade and seige castles, and many other things. There are RPG elements which are good add, you can enhance your hero abilities and thus can be reflected on your army or other aspects of the game, siege battles are fine but could be better. Graphics and overall atmosphere are great for such theme.
However, the campaign map adds a lot as I mentioned previously, but the excution is really poor, the campign map feels so buggy, not realistic at all,for example robbers are like organized kingdom army that can crush you, the trade system feels unreal, the upgrade could be much better, and after sometimes you will feel extreamly bored from campaing and you just want to play those epic historic battles which were in Real Warfare 1242, thats why I would give 6 just because of the campaign, and I think if they make it like Total War game campaing but in real time it will be much better

Couldn't get in to this game. It was too hard to control units etc. They often just wouldn't go where I tried to put them I felt llike I was battling the controls and game system instead of the enemy. After playing the total war series it just doesnt compare.
