To be quite honest, I was hoping that there would be more to do than just move a mouse around a screen and click. the hard mode isnt even difficult and the game gets repetitive fast.

Although it is fun to play if your waiting for like a youtube video to load

This game is quintessential to any Twin Stick Shooter collection and like most Twin Stick games its simplistic arcade action is easy to pick up and play, which is also exhibited also in its predecessor game Bullet Candy. Though Scoregasm conveys a more deviously imaginative designed game, it’s anti-complexity proves that a good game doesn’t need complex gameplay, or deeply driven in story, or DX11 graphics with realistic hair to be fun, as this was how “arcade” games were always meant to be enjoyed. Just 2 sticks and a hail of bullets! I think I just had a Scoregasm!

So much fun to be had with such a simple yet addicting game. Just one question why the hell is there no actual restart button for when you screw up? It just restarts you on the same level with the same number of lives that you have after you screw up. Thats not a restart. Would have much more fun on this game if I didnt have to quit and reload the level everytime I mess up. Still its only a minor flaw in such an epic game.

A very nice twin stick arena shooter. The audio and visuals blend well together, and make a nice fit for this game. If your in to twin stick or arena shooters or just want to reminisce of playing robotron as a youth you should buy this game. It is well worth the asking price. And its a steal when it goes on sale.

Right up there with the likes of Geometry Wars and Waves. One of the best Twin-Stick Shooters in recent years.

It's a decent twin-stick shooter, easy to pick up and play for short lengths. Controls are clean, it works well on mouse and keyboard, and it's forgiving enough on some levels to be comfortable for beginners. All you need to know is movement, shooting, and using the short-range bomb as a shield from bullets.

The game has many levels, with the harder path requiring higher scores to unlock. Gameplay is varied with unique challenges available after completing those levels. Scoreboards have been broken for awhile, but what does that matter? It would be topped by a few cheaters unless the devs did regular wipes. And if you are looking to sit on top of a leaderboard, find an unpopulated game.

I play games for gameplay. The gameplay here is solid, but levels can get a bit challenging at times, so I don't play a lot. I usually play for a short period to pass some time, and the game works for that. The lives system seems unnecessary since all levels can be restarted and replayed at will. But the game does twin-stick nicely, and 50% off is a great deal.

An enjoyable bullet hell experience for people who are horrible at bullet hell games.

It's tons of fun and challenges add tons of replay value. A pretty solid twin stick shooter.

Online scores don't work and the developer prefers to ignore community. So i would not recommend the game to the people who prefers working games.

Reminds me of Asteroids but with good controls and a whole lot harder. I cannot stress the difficulty enough. This game is fúcking hard. Pick it up while it's only a couple dollars.

I am well pleased with this game. I was supprised at how good it was for the money ($2.49 on sale) and it is one of the best old shooters of it type.

A game so nice, I bought it twice (don't mind the time played). One of the most fun shoot-'em-ups I've found on any platform. The fundamentals are rock solid, and their apparent simplicity will test you in surprisingly varied ways. Steam has a lot of shmups to offer, and you might wonder why to bother with this one... I'll try to spell it out below.

This game dispenses with novel mechanics and focuses on fun gameplay, level designs, and interesting challenges. It's got oldschool genes in it, but doesn't pigeonhole itself into being retro. It's neither horizontal nor vertical, but requires you to move and shoot omnidirectionally in every level. Horizontal scrollers tend to have a lot of environmental hazards, while verticals tend to have bullets flying everywhere... this has both!

Every level has unique situations to deal with, and even a veteran player will have to master them individually. Losing your powerups isn't the death sentence it can be in other shmups, because they aren't key to an easy victory - no screen-filling death lasers here to make you a sloppy pilot. There are enough powerups to mix things up, but they're random. It's a game of skill, not memorization.

Difficulty and pacing are outstanding. The curve is fair, practicing produces noticeable improvements every time, and when you accomplish something, you feel the glory. But it's also a game easily picked up and put down by the casual player. You're not stuck playing the same levels in the same order, and don't have to beat every previous level for another shot at one you've unlocked. Levels are like Starfox - 3 difficulty paths you can travel between as you meet requirements. All of this together makes a game well-suited for casuals, hardcore shmup fans, and anything in between. You'll always have something to work toward that isn't TOO far away.

Scoregasm is in my personal top 10 for shmups, and is my pick for best twin-stick game on the PC. Though made with the X360 controller in mind (I think), any Dual Shock works fantastically with it. If you like shoot-'em-ups, I can't imagine not liking this, unless you have some very specific preferences for your games.

This satisfies the crave for wacky Shmups gamers -

Pros:
- Very Responsive controls and intuitive play style.
- Levels and difficulty unlocked by how good the player performs on the previous stage.
- Very Creative set of level themes and boss designs.
- That music gets stuck in your head.
- Plenty of levels to go through including bonus difficulty sets (Unlockable by.....)
- A clear feeling of scoregasm when the target hit is achieved (You'll see in the video)

Cons (Mostly Nitpick):
- At times very hard to see what hits you (Especially during the target hit moment)
- Wishing for more power ups
- Could have gone further with the witty messages from the commander.
- Leaves me wanting more music tracks.

The game can give you a vibe close to Every Extend Extra crossed with a Tohou game but slicker in graphic and level design.
Ive done a quick title check of this game at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI8K2GLEiGc

Definitely worth a shot for maximum Shmup scoregasm !

Scoregasm delivers unfettered, joyous twin-stick arcade gameplay.

I never could figure out how the menu and level system works. It doesn't seem to work right. But if you move around the menu and click on stuff, you get levels that are so much fun to play, you can't stop at one.

Scoregasm really impresses with fast, fluid gameplay. Try the demo.

Scoregasm is like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥. But with scores. Hence Scoregasm.

I mean, you might doubt it at first, like "how can a game be like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥? Have you ever even had an ♥♥♥♥♥♥?" and that's fine, they're fair questions to ask but I ask you, have you ever not had an ♥♥♥♥♥♥ involve lasers? I did not think so. So throw winning some points on top of a laser powered ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and there you go, videogame.

I think that's how it works, anyway. I wasn't really paying attention in class that day.

It's also a bloody good arena shooter with biscuits. I'm not lying about the biscuits.

A Twin-Stick Bullet Hell style game.

Ahh, Bullet Hell games, how much I love you... Or atleast love screaming at you. This game is more of a Bullet Hell Lite though, Still great fun but with none of the insane difficulty of a screen full of things really trying to kill you.

Gameplay-wise, this game handles with all the grace and maneuverability of a twin-stick shooter... So, depending on how good you are at them great to middling. I always manage to lose my grip on one of the control sticks whenever I play, but I still manage to suvive somehow.

Graphically, the screen-shots speak for themselves. Bright, vibrant colours, varied enemies and stages, a third thing... I think this is one of the prettiest games that I own.

The music in this game matches the gameplay perfectly, so much so that I forget sometimes that the sound effects and the musical score are seperated.

I may be somewhat biased in this review, because I have always been a sucker for games like this, but I do fully recommend this game if you enjoy pretty colours with a laid-back feel... Well, as laid back as a Bullet Hell game can be.

A small bit of self promotion now, I have a Youtube channel where I do Let's Plays, and this game just happens to be one of the games that I have done on it. Who would've thought it? Anyway, if you want to see some gameplay footage of this game, please check out my Let's Play of it here:
