"It's Dota 2 where everybody is Invoker. In all seriousness, takes the Magicka formula but makes it competitive. An acquired taste w/ a learning curve."

Patch Notes 15-06-25 | TDM, improvements & more!

Here's the patch notes for todays update!

* New Gamemode - Team Deathmatch
Very simple rules: 2 teams of 4, no respawns, first team to win 3 round, wins the match. (Similar to Duel.)
Rate of focus gain is increased and players maintain focus between rounds. Super intense.

* Queue to multiple 4 vs 4 game modes
There's checkboxes (all filled in by default) that enable you to select which 4 vs 4 gamemodes to queue to.

* New crafting recipies
New Ranged Weapons, Trinkets, Imps and really cool Staffs.
You can also purchase scrolls for magicks you already own.

*Quick Select Magicks
Holding a customizable key (default space) brings up a full menu of all magicks, select the ones you want quickly. Hence, quick select.

* Zoom in the Mastery Tree
Mouse scrollwheel zooms in/out in the mastery tree for easier navigation and discovery. Zoom!

Minor things:
* Levels of all players are visible in the score screen ingame.
* New epic loot in the treasure chest.

And a bunch of Bugfixes and minor tweaks of course. No game balance changes.

  • Forfeit automatically if you're AFK.
  • Fixed issue with numbers appearing connected in custom match player amount indicators.
  • Fix for fire mage skin name being too long.
  • Player should now be properly pushed away by appearing troll even when standing next to troll door.
  • Fixed goblin shaman killing self when no line of sight and firing into a wall.
  • Removed overlapping forfeit text, removed forfeit from duel.
  • Duel portraits don't overlap with the timer anymore.

A different approach to Online Battle Arenas. Instead of choosing characters with predetermined skill-sets you play as a Wizard, combining various spell powers such as ice, fire, rock, etc. to take out your opponents. It is a very fast-paced edge of your seat type of combat. Often leaving you to rethink your strategy as some spells are more useful in some situations it forces you to quickly adapt to face different opponents.

The gameplay is a solid 10 out of 10.

As with most Free to Play games there are in game transactions, mostly for various items which have a more-or-less equivalent item available to purchase with the in-game currency. There is a nifty daily chest which increases in value as you play for the day until you open it (honestly, most times I launch this game all I do is open the chest, partially due to the bad matchmaking).
BEWARE the Experience Boosting items and the insanely lengthy matchmaking queues, The Experience Boosts countdown starts as soon as purchased and will deplete even when offline.
I would certainly recommend this game to everyone that is looking for a great online gaming experience.

This game was at some point really promising but the more I play, the more I see people abusing broken mechanics and inconsistencies since developers can't just get those EXTREMELY LITTLE THINGS fixed properly.
Also you can get launched into space with fairly easy combo.. (15 times reported, "fixed" or ignored, still counting)

Patches are generally quite fine but always there's more bugs than actual improvements included + all the USELESS stuff nobody never asked for are implemented way too often (can't exit lobby was a frickin' useless change since there is sometimes this bug where matchmaking fails to find the last player etc)

In the beginning the game was awesome since you could actually get good enough to take down 2 or more enemies alone but now it's just made impossible since every single noob can spam lightning or other stuff that goes through walls or storms RANDOMLY which causes me headache.

It's worth trying out but honestly, the learning curve is so mad you gotto be prepared to spend 100 hours before you're getting anywhere, also do the damn tutorial even if it's not a MUST-COMPLETE (which it definitely should be)

Pre-Release Review
You know those parts in movies and games that will squeeze the last tear out of you. Im talking about that time in " I am Legend" where the dog dies or the ending of "The Walking Dead: The Game". These times really show our inner feelings. It is these times that we are ourselves who we are. So anyways this game is so ♥♥♥♥ it made me cry. 10/10
