IMPortant Reminder Over Today's Networking Changes.

April 23rd, 2014

*UPDATE* - Servers will come down at 11:00 CET to apply the patch.

We are testing to route all network traffic through our servers. This should specifically hit Hagfish and Sloths hard, and make sure that things happen equally for all clients. It should work at least as well as the existing network solution, anything else should be considered a bug and be reported to us so we can fix it!

Now, this is a first test - we want to try it globally for 24 hours from Wednesday 13.00 CET to Thursday 13.00 CET.

It's critically important that you give us feedback on how it works and feels on the forums!

* Can you hit your targets?
* Does the game feel laggy?
* Can you spot any bugs?
* Do you have connection issues?

Please report any such issues here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?771636-New-Client-Server-Functionality-Feedback-and-Bug-Reporting-Thread

It is a very good game. I remember a couple of weeks ago it had problems galore. The Devs have done an Amazing Job with this game, good update pacing. This game doesn't require a lot of skill to join in. But It has a pretty high skill ceiling. But I recommend joining in now to have a say in the Development (Or you could join in later) . Good Things are also Coming! Not to mention a pretty good communtity.

See ya in the Wizard War!

The first Magicka game came out around 2011, and the spellcasting was absolutely a blast. Now, two years later, Paradox Interactive has created an amazing PvP Spellcasting Action game. This game focuses on a four-on-four PvP deathmatch with three control points that serve as spawn points. This is where I think the weakest point of the game is. If you can't spawn, you lose. That means that you can win or lose the game in 2 minutes. This is pretty bad. But that's about the only thing I don't like. Another thing that has changed from the original is that you can only have three elements active instead of the usual five. This means that there is less spells availible, but works because this is a fast paced game. Overall, this game is great and will be free-to-play when it is officially released. 9/10

You like LoL? Dota 2? Me neither. But this little yet complicated game will grant joy to both MOBA lovers and haters. Not just because of unique game mechanics and spellcasting engine. Not just because of fast-paced quick-thinking action gameplay at it's finest. Not just because The Famous and Fabulous Vlad is narrating the whole thing with his deep sexy voice cheering you up with his dark yet funny jokes. You will love this game because... of all of these things I just mentioned! In my opinion, Magicka: Wizard Wars is a must-have game for those who are tired of all those same games and seek for truly unique and unfamiliar experience. Not to mention it's just at the alpha state (which means it's only gonna get better)! Be the Man and grab a copy now! You will not regret that... Or just wait a couple of months untill the whole game becomes absolutely Free To Play and You won't need to buy anything. You'll just be a little bit less manly if you do. Give develepers some love (I mean money)! They really deserve them.

While being early access and the content is fairly minimal, it has made a great first impression and you can definitely see all the potential what it will become in the future.

Players familiar with the original Magicka's combat system will definitely have an easier time getting into Wizard Wars despite how the combat now has been greatly balanced around in order to better suit a fast paced competetive PvP enviroment. The rest who haven't played or heard the original Magicka might have some problems getting used to how the combat works due to the lack of an effective practice system, but you can assume there will most likely be one available in the future.

Currently there is only one map, less than a handful of various items, the level and in-game currency system has no real meaning, matchmaking system and games that can last between 30 seconds to 10 minutes.

Get the early access if you enjoyed the original Magicka, or like a unique fast paced competetive enviroment. If you're not certain, you can always wait for the game to go free to play.
