Dirt Showdown is in my opinion a bit underrated and really misunderstood by some people. They consider the game as the successor of Dirt 3. However, Showdown is more a spinoff, that has nothing to do with the other Dirt games besides the 'Dirt' name. That being sad, I think this game is really good in what is does. Just mindless 'demolition derby like' fun. The car handling is just right for this type of game in my opinion. It also has great graphics and sound. There's single player with a career mode, wich will keep you busy for a while. It has enough variety with many different gamemodes. And then there's another SP mode, called Joyride, were you have to complete a series of tricks and collect all the Showdown logo's. Well, if you want those achievements at least :) But the game really shines in multiplayer. Unfortunately, the MP isn't really active anymore. Often you find yourself in an empty lobby. The best idea is to look on the forum for people to play with. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend the game just for MP. But like I said, there's enough fun to be had in SP alone.

"You get what you pay for" is the moral of the story here.

Dirt Showdown isn't supposed to be a AAA, GOTY, "11/10 better than CoD - IGN" game. It's a minature game, if you want to put it in context.

Some negatives: Can't customize cars or paint schemes like other Codemaster games, not too many locations, demo-derby really sucks, handeling is too arcade-y.

Some Positives: Great graphics, good surround sound, decent selection of cars (even if they handle near identical), decent online (if you can still find anyone).

Honestly the game modes get repetitive after awhile, but it's fun for some hours. Worth ~$15

7/10 FUN BUT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE A DIRT GAME

the game is really fun and not too long. the only other dirt game ive finished was dirt 2 and that game felt like a rally game. this game felt more like a gameshow that a rally game. there were definitley more objective events than race events. the car selection lacked as well. overall i do reccommend this game but a few things you should keep in mind.

1. its not like the other dirt games
2. its not about customization or variety
3. youll be doing challanges more often than actually racing

This game is not Dirt! There is nothing here that resembles the old Dirt Series we all love. It's not like the old Dirt Series but rather something different. SO DON'T PUT THIS GAME IN THE DIRT FRANCHISE! This game is fun though. I'll give this a 7/10.

Great game different from those simulator DiRTs and it is meant to be arcade game. It has no friggin DRMs like GFWL which makes other DiRT titles useless(unable to save anything). Bought both DiRT Showdown and DiRT3 but one is just a trash which is unplayable. Buy this and don't buy DiRT3 which is pile of ♥♥♥♥.

As an arcade racing game it might be above average, but that's pretty much it. After the first season the campaign starts to feel repetitive and boring, at point where you lose interest in progression.
After you finished a race with that annoying as hell commentary who must comment everything, get ready for some unnecessary animation for unlocking a new race... You won a race? Well, let's waste a minute at showing the new stage with that annoying commentary whom you like to hate so much.

The part that supposed to be the most interesting, destruction derby, is the most lifeles feature in the game unfortunatly. On the destruction arena there is just competition for score, cars get respawn, you hit them, the car is fully damaged... here is another respawn. Not to mention the boring crashes.

This game could have been an interesting dlc, but a standalone game it fails to deliever what it promises.

5/10

The
+ Graphics, level design
- Annoying commentary
- No car upgrades/just 3 stats
- Repetitive
- Boring campaign
- Simple/unoriginal level tracks
- Unispired derby section

Sooooo.......

No manual
No cockpit
Physics are bad
Cant change to high resoultions as game will crash when applied
Cant turn on v-sync as game will crash when applied
Has those really fun animations you have to watch whenever you select a menu
Dirt3 reskinned for derby
Cant connect to the online services as they're 'unavalible'... yeah right
Only 2 view modes (bonnet or 3rd person)

I'd go on but the games not worthy of my complaints ;)

Game doesn't support steering wheels. Has a bug which causes it to crash if you try to force it to do so. Doesn't have the Game With Windows Live crap from Dirt 3 though, which is a step forward.

0/100 DO NOT BUY THIS BUGGY PIECE OF CRAP.

It's an arcade game. In races I either came first or eighth, the rest of the cars are always close together and running into eachother. Mainly loaded it up to test Eyefinity, the extra two monitors do not add anything to the game (using a TV as my primary display) works well with a steering wheel though.
Works fine as a humble bundle multiscreen racing game test of multiple monitors. Would not pay $15 for it though.
