About This Game

In Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, you are the leader of a civilization embroiled in a galactic war, fighting for the survival of your entire race against relentless foes. Your success will depend entirely on your ability to manage your empire and command your vast fleets of starships to victory.
Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity is a “RT4X” game, blending the epic strategy and empire management of the 4X genre (Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate) with the fast-paced and tactical elements of real-times strategy.

Key features:

  • Explore the epic scale of a dynamic 3D galaxy featuring planets, asteroids, plasma storms, stars and more.
  • Take on multiple roles as you seamlessly transition between the role of emperor and fleet commander using Sins’ unique strategic zoom.
  • Extensive diplomatic and economic strategies are yours to wield to your advantage. Forge alliances, establish powerful pacts with allies to open up new bonuses, setup trade between empires and use pirates to take out over-powered tyrants.
  • Fight epic battles with hundreds of ships on-screen at once, with up to 10,000 particles firing off in full-out combat.
  • Seamless zoom in and out, from looking at a one-man fighter to viewing your entire empire spanning billions of kilometers of space.
  • Defend your worlds by constructing massive starbases, deploying deadly minefields, and researching advanced defensive technologies.
  • Create strong alliances and gain powerful pact bonuses using the all new diplomacy system.
  • Bribe or hire pirates to wipe out your opponents, but beware, the pirates gain strength over time and can also be used against you!
  • Play online with up to 10 friends via Ironclad Online.

One of the more original and fun RTS games in the past decade. They took the classic RTS formula and did great work fitting it in a huge space environment.

Colonize planets, build your fleet, attack and defend, on an inter-galactic scale.

This game ask for a serial number as so as you start it which steam doesn't give. I personally don't want to jump though hoops to get a game working. I already spent 35 min trying to get stardock to send me a serial number. Don't waste your time or money.

A wonderfully addictive and generally underrated RTS. One of the best timesink-type RTSes I have played - In college I used to set aside weekends to play this thing in 16-hour marathon games (before I owned it on steam; I've probably hit 300 hours overall). One of those games where you can be out-of-your-mind busy, constantly clicking things and changing mental tracks, for hours on end, and if you ever have a moment to breathe, something is probably going very wrong.

I like this version of the game better than the newer Rebellion version - Capital ships are more powerful and important here, and the balance feels better.

Orginally I had issues with getting through the newly placed DRM for the game, It took about 2 days for Support to get back to me about my issue but it was a rather easy fix for me. The game is great and I sank another 3 hours into it today once I got through the new sign up process.

Do not waste your money on this game. Buy its predecessor, Rebellion. It has a lot more content, updated graphics and gameplay. If you have already purchased this game, try to return it and get Rebellion instead.

Trinity is a good game but, as many others have said, I think Rebellion is a much better game. The only reason to get Trinity is if it is on sale for $5 or so as it was when I got it.

no campaign mode....story mode i mean. and when you come into contact with other people and they give you quests? its like..."kill 2 civillian structures" and all you have is like 6 light frigates and one capital ship, IF YOU'RE LUCKY. so you go over there and what do they have? inexplicably, they have like 5 capital ships, legions of fighters, and enough seige ships to wipe out your hopes and dreams.

This is space based RTS on an interplanetary scale. No two games are alike and I get my butt kicked as often as I win. Maybe that makes me a noob but I love it. I played Sins on my friends computer for years and finally got it on steam when the full game with xpacs went on sale. I am a real fan of the build and combat systems. The AI is pretty challenging, and I like that I can interact with it as if it were a player as far as trading, and offering missions and stuff like that. It's certainly not the greatest game I've ever played, or even the best RTS, but it does have good replay value, and that's important.

This is an addicting, but incredibly rewarding space stategy game. It's a RTS, but the pace gives you time to react and plan. Faster paced than the turn-based classic MOO2, but less hectic than a StarCraft. I also enjoy the capital ships earning experience and leveling up. The star bases are also a great additon. Highly recommended.

This is a great game, but made completely obsolete by Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. That one isn't really a sequel, just a stand-alone expansion that also includes everything made so far. There is no longer any reason to buy this one.

Since Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is basically this game but bigger, this game is effectively obsolete much like how Left 4 Dead 1 is to Left 4 Dead 2.

But I'll give this game a yes because it was good. Great, actually. :D

I'll break down Trinity like this.

Sins (original) is an incredible game worth 60 dollars easily.

The "Entrenchment" expansion adds starbases which are cool and pretty big game changers as well as mines. Probably worth no more than 10 dollars.

The "Diplomacy" DLC adds envoy and envoy bonuses which are very nice to have but difficult to obtain and pointless except in big matches. I would say that's worth no more than 5.

If you're here because of a steam sale. I'd say grab Trinity so you can enjoy the full content (Or even better Sins of the Solar Empire :Rebellion) but if you're really tight for cash and the DLC are looking pricy. Just grab the original.

SoaSE is freaking awesome! No other way to put it! It's visually beautiful, and the RTS aspect is incredibly well balanced and fun to play. WARNING: It is very easy to loose several hours of your time to a single match!

One of the best star empire type game.

Onlt major issue with this game is that it isn't capable of running on multiple processors. Only really becomes an issue when you get into the massive space battles that inevitably come to pass.

It's a highly simplified 4X that contains just enough features and unit variation to keep the game interesting.

I wouldn't pay the normal asking price since the game is a few years old now, has almost no multiplayer activity and has been effectively replaced but at the typical sale prices it's a good deal and a nice alternative to Rebellion for those with older computers.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes real time strategy. this game is alot better if you can find someone to play with and the most matchs do take a long time to finish and it has great graphics sound, controls and gameplay. 10/10 IGN would buy again
