Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to Arkham Asylum and the spiritual sequel to Escape from New York.
You once again take the role of Batman: The super hero with the world's deadest parents. But this time around, if you include DLC, you also play as Robin, cooler Robin, and Halley Barrey.
I don't know how to spell Haley Baree.
Batman brings with him his skills and tools from his last adventure through the planet Zebes. Like Spider-Man's web swing, and his combat blanket, and his ability to move like a jumping bean while still being built like a brick ♥♥♥♥ house. Seriously, look at him, he makes me question my hetereosexuality. I once had a dream where he kissed me on the lips. In Paris, France. I don't think it makes me gay and neither does my therapist.
But also, this time around, you get to go through story segments as Halae Bear-e. Who has the amazing powers of making you and excellent survivalmen with your tent pitching skills. Her segments aren't that different from playing as Dead-parents man, but this time you move around with grace instead of like a tank that just drove through an orphanage. The segments end very quickly, and are few in between, but one leaves Hallee Beree restrained by poison Ivy and you're all "Woah! Damn! It just got all steamy up in here!"
The combat is much the same as the last game, only this time you don't swing around like an incompetant ♥♥♥♥♥ as soon as someone has the bright idea to bring a sharp object to the fight. You can now practically waste everyone and everything that moves without much effort because, well, you're Batman.
The challenge maps return, only this time to bust your balls, like my uncle during the family reunion. It is a sad story and I will go into it another time.
A good number of Batman's rogues gallery shows up, Including such memorable characters as.
Clown guy, and Rich bird-dwarf, and Freezy-dude, burned face man, and of course, who could forget, Immortal geezer.
Should you get this game? Well, I guess you could, but right now it costs about as much as a sandwich. Would you rather have a sandwich than a batman game? I would as well.
4 out of 19 smiley faces. Still waiting for that Blue Beetle game, Rock Steady.
