Okay, so I've played this game for over 1,000 hours, and probably a few hundred more on the browser/flash player. This game has some awesome things in it, but they are usually outweighed by the cons:
Classes are unique and most have team roles
Lots of monsters and enemies
Dungeons are quite fun to rush, and they are also fun to run with a group of friends.
Feels rewarding to get good loot/beat a hard/solo a tough dungeon/etc
Satisfying to blast through hordes of baddies within a matter of seconds (on maxed characters)
Good guild system.
Since Kabam bought the game, it's been mega P2W. To even have any fun you have to buy AT LEAST 1 extra character slot, and even then you need to buy vault chests (~5 dollars each) to store 8 ITEMS EACH. Character slots cost even more, and they suck you out of money too much.
Pets. They are unbalanced, and even though the higher levels look cool, again, P2W. You have to pay gold or fame to feed your pet, and while the fame is free, it usually requires hours of grinding monsters and dungeons and then suicide to get fame, and the fame prices are ridiculously high on the higher tier pets. Oh, and did I mention you also have to pay for the food itself? Yes, you can feed the pet your unwanted items but even high tier items have puny amounts of feed power, which, in the long run, costs you even more money than buying some food.
Some classes are unbalanced-Knight. Priest. The Knight is a fun class to play, but it has rediculous defense and health. What makes it worse is that about 25% of all players I've seen are knights, which makes getting loot hard because the knights camp out around the boss, permastunning it, and getting all the damage. On the other hand, priests are completely underpowered, having NO REWARD for healing other players and the lowest damage output in the game. Players should be rewarded for being a healer. I think they should add a damage boost or some sort of reward for priests because right now, priests can't get loot. Ever.
***EDIT: As of build 25.0.1, Priests have recieved a buff, along with other previously-underpowered classes such as Mystic. Knights are still the dominant class and priests still have trouble getting loot.***
Permadeath is okay, but I shouldn't lose something that I PAID ACTUAL MONEY FOR. (Backpacks, dyes, etc.) You can buy equipment in the Nexus, but it's ridiculously expensive. (8 bucks for a staff that I'm going to lose when I die and I can get in the game for free? No thanks.) In fact, we've asked Kabam so many times NOT to put tops in the nexus, and what do they do? They put tops in the nexus. Not only did they make them almost twice as expensive as 1 tier below them, they ruin the specialness(that's a word, right?)of actually getting the gear legit and now any noob with a fat wallet can look like a "pro" by buying these tops.
Also, the new sprites that Kabam made look terrible. I'm sorry but compare the Sword/Shield of the Mad God to an original item..

Anyway, this game is fun until you die and lose acutal money and hours of work, but it's not fun for a new player. Wandering around on a level 3 wizard trying to survive is not fun. Once you get wealthy though, the game is better. Although it's a fun game, I don't recommend you play this. The frustration just isn't worth it.
Tl;dr: Good game. Bad company. If you're new to the game, you'll hate it. If you're a long-time player and can see past the premium content (Good luck, buddy) then this game is for you. Overall though still not recommended.
