Reviews

“Tank Universal is the love child of the movie Tron and the game Battlezone. This tank battle game becomes more then just a minor fun diversion but a benchmark title in the indie development community.”

“One of the best kept secrets of this summer. There is quite a bit of strategy lurking beneath the run and gun gameplay. The trick is to find the willpower to actually stop playing this game. It is quite addictive.”

Wow. This game surprised me. Very fun game & very unique in some aspects, the game gives off a neat Tron like feel, if Tron was a complete warzone anyway.

Story wise Tank Universal delivers, I'm only a few hours into the main story but it's pretty fun, the only dissapointment is that they set it up that you're some old guy using a simulation helmet.. ruins a bit of immersion, but oh well! The actual story is pretty fun to play but so far I've realised there's a lot of empty parts of the game where you're just driving endlessly to get to your next objective which can be a bit drab.

When you're actually in a battle though the game is very exciting to play, alongside a ranking up system with Steam achievements to match your rank the game can make it feel rewarding to excel in combat.

Overall? Great game but the story can drag on a bit, and there's a lack of a proper skirmish mode (Maybe you unlock it when you complete the game?) -Also the music they have in the game.. perfect, well suited to it's theme. 8/10

I would love to see these developers have a kickstarter to make a much more advanced version of the game too.

Tank Universal is a great throwback to VR, TRON, Battlezone, and just plain old-school gaming full of action and strategy. It's plain as day that Tank Universal is not a professional game - the basic animation, the chunky graphics, the lack of any voice acting whatsoever - but it clearly has heart. While not perfect, for its price, indie roots and throw back to the movie “Tron”, this is a must buy for action gamers.

Suprisingly fun. Don't go into it expecting anything groundbreaking, especially in the way of graphics. If you can see past the fault of small games like this you can have a lot of fun with it. I got it for $.50, 90% off. I wouldn't recommend getting it unless it's on sale.

Reminds me of old arcade tank games.

CONSIDER THIS: THE TRUE GAME. I invite anyone reading this to consider the place of games in their lives. Do you feel it is an addiction or distraction? Do you feel it contributes to a sense of social and political lethargy? Does gaming function as an ajunct to TV as a form of mind control for (mostly) young males while you are being set up as potential recruit-fodder for the armed forces? There is a REAL game in this world. It is big and complex and totally worth playing. Before playing this game you should reflect on two things:
(1) What happens when a jet liner hits a large office tower?
(2) What happens when 200,000 of Structural steel in a 300 meter office tower collapses?
Compare your understanding for what happens in reality with what we were told happened on September 11 2001. If you notice a discrepancy you may be qualified to play the real game of life.
To play make your way to the nearest possible Freemasonic lodge and begin your application.
Talk to you again when you pass level 20 of the sacred order.

I got 90% off this game so i bought it for 50 cents and played it

It sucks. The level design is bad and some of the areas are long and your tank is slow.

The story is very bad, the graphics sucked for me and the action was boring (except when you have the key and the music comes on).Everything in this game is slow, boring and repetitive, so don't waste your money on this game.

Sorry for being so negative 1.5/10

A highly sopisticated Tron like game where you alternate between controlling a 65 year old man, and a 65 year old man driving a vehicle with all the handling of a refrigerator precariously perched atop a unicycle.
