“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.”
Earth 2160 is a very good real-time strategy game with four unique factions, a remarkable grade of unit customization and broad spectrum of tactical opportunities.
Compared with the predecessors the differences and specific characteristics of the factions were further developed (e.g. unique base building and unit types) and the micromanagement of units and buildings has been simplified. The presentation of the story can be seen as another strong point of this game.
On the other hand the clarity of the user interface still remains an issue, that would have needed more attention.
My rating system consists of six categories in descending order of importance:
- Combat & Controls
- Tactical gameplay
Based on the performance each category will receive one of the following grading:
- S-Rank: excellent
- A-Rank: very good
- B-Rank: solid
- C-Rank: satisfactory
- D-Rank: inferior
If the S-Rank is awarded, a quote from the game or personal comment will be added as a token of my respect (in brackets).
Combat & Controls: B-Rank
Tactical gameplay: A-Rank
(We are stuck with technology when what we really want is just stuff that works.)
There are no achievements to conquer.
Achievement difficulty: none
