I first played this game back in 2010 free weekend offer.... I enjoyed it a lot, I saw this on steam Summer Sale for 99c bought and soon realized that this game has been abandoned. It's very difficult to find a server but for 99c it’s worth it. What I'd recommend is pick this game up on sale with your mates you'll enjoy it DO NOT pay full price for this as i mentioned it is abandoned by the community and the developer. I discovered there were only 15 maps. Considering all the mini games (which do get somewhat repetitive) are included in this list of 15, that leaves less than 10 maps to actually race on, but you can't go wrong with 99cent for this....

This is a first impressions after 1 hour of gameplay

Zero Gear is a Kart Racer that just reeks of mediocrity. The physics are completely off, making steering your Kart extremely difficult. The weapons are worthless and often help your opponents more than they harm them (like boosting them straight forward). The tracks range from boring to dreadful, and some of them are so long and tedious that I felt like hitting my head against the keyboard. The game promises 15 maps but fails to tell you that about 6 of them are ♥♥♥♥ty mini games that are amusing for about 2 minutes each. What made games like Mario Kart 64 great was that the levels were well designed and infinitely replayable, Zero Gear just doesn't have that. The community is as good as dead, and last time I checked there were about 3 games up, the fullest of which had 4 players on it. The AI is so unbelievably stupid that they're not even worth playing against.

The game is not all terrible however, the graphics are nice and colourful, the music is alright and there's some neat customization options for your character and kart, but when the game is so fundamentally broken, none of these things matter

Most of the positive reviews for this game seem to be from people who either got it for free or paid 99 cents for it during the Summer sale of 2014. A bad game is a bad game regardless of how much you paid for it, and Zero Gear is undoubtedly a bad game.

It's cool if you like cart racing stuff or have played Hot wheels, it's fun to play, though not many people play it so you might have to play with bots most of the timesl.

Think the alternate version of Mario Kart for PC. This is a fast paced, balanced game which has alot of different game modes (stunts, traditional racing, sports, arcade). You can fully customize your kart and player sometimes resulting in hilarious and ridiculous creations. It is definetly meant to be played with friends as it is way better (AI can be as smart as a banana) and there are no active servers. Hours of pure and legit fun.
