About This Game

The desperate leadership of a doomed Soviet Union travels back in time to change history and restore the glory of Mother Russia. The time travel mission goes awry, creating an alternate timeline where technology has followed an entirely different evolution, a new superpower has been thrust on to the world stage, and World War III is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making World War III a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.

  • Star-Studded Storytelling — Command & Conquer's trademark live-action videos return in HD, with over 60 minutes of footage featuring the largest cast in the history of the Command & Conquer franchise.
  • Command the Seas, Conquer the World — Experience Gameplay as for the first time in the series, waging war on the water will be every bit as important as dominating by land and air. Gain strategic advantages by controlling resources in the seas and mounting three-pronged attacks from all directions.
  • Ready your Man Cannons! — Armored War Bears, and Anime-inspired psychic school girls join your favorite Red Alert units like Sonic Dolphins, Tesla Troopers, Attack Dogs, and the ever popular Tanya.
  • A New Threat From the East — The deadly Empire of the Rising Sun is a technological terror, with designs influenced by a mixture of anime, science-fiction, martial arts and robot culture. The Empire's futuristic units can transform into alternate forms, and they specialize in naval warfare.

Back in 2008 i used to play this on my dads pc, after growing up i basically forgot about it.
The summer sale re-united me with it.
Seriously though, i love this game. I never liked RTS's but this one just gets to me. Its hard at first but its really fun when you're good at it. Sure its not as good as RA2, but still.

OK game with, sadly, bad acting (compared to Red Alert 2)

But then....boobs....boobs everywhere.

In conclusion, 10/10

Still the best Command & Conquer there is!
Perfectly balanced gameplay and extravagant cutscenes!
It's a shame they put the servers down... still - the solo experience is amazing.

I played RA3 for about 4 years on and off, Its a solid and well polished RTS, by biggests cristisms are that the online servers got killed off when Gamespy went under and EA did nothing to replace them,
Another minor issue, this game has a problem when running duel or mutiple monitors, your mouse cursor wonders off on to the inactive display, so you have to unplug your second or addtional monitors which is a pain in the rear.

Common invalid complaints about this game are:
a) 'its too 'cartoony' but that trend was really started by RA2.

b) 'RA2 YR was better ' No it wasn't it was a laugh, but the balance in the RA2 YR was freaking awful, it became a one faction joke of an RTS in multiplayer, Everyone just played as Allies, because Soviets were usless if you didnt rush in the first 5 mins, and playing as Yuri was just 'cheap' no strategy needed, just steal all the enermy units or boomer rush. In RA3 all 3 factions are very well balanced indeed. And you cannot spam your way to victory with only one unit type.

c) 'too much micro managment' - Basically translates as 'the game is too hard for me.'

RA3 was the last good C&C game to come out of EA LA, highly recomended if you can live without multiplayer out of the box.

The game itself is great.. I like what they've done with the graphics.. although red alert wasn't known for the graphics but for its' gameplay.
The voice acting and cinematics were well made and are really great, The gameplay is good... not to be compared with Red Alert 2 because reasons..
