About This Game

The desperate leadership of a doomed Soviet Union travels back in time to change history and restore the glory of Mother Russia. The time travel mission goes awry, creating an alternate timeline where technology has followed an entirely different evolution, a new superpower has been thrust on to the world stage, and World War III is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making World War III a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.

  • Star-Studded Storytelling — Command & Conquer's trademark live-action videos return in HD, with over 60 minutes of footage featuring the largest cast in the history of the Command & Conquer franchise.
  • Command the Seas, Conquer the World — Experience Gameplay as for the first time in the series, waging war on the water will be every bit as important as dominating by land and air. Gain strategic advantages by controlling resources in the seas and mounting three-pronged attacks from all directions.
  • Ready your Man Cannons! — Armored War Bears, and Anime-inspired psychic school girls join your favorite Red Alert units like Sonic Dolphins, Tesla Troopers, Attack Dogs, and the ever popular Tanya.
  • A New Threat From the East — The deadly Empire of the Rising Sun is a technological terror, with designs influenced by a mixture of anime, science-fiction, martial arts and robot culture. The Empire's futuristic units can transform into alternate forms, and they specialize in naval warfare.

Despite the fact that I haven't played so many C&C games (Generals + ZH, RA: Retaliation and Tiberium Wars), and the fact I really am terrible at RTS games, Red Alert 3 is a something, I could reccomend even to the people that are almost as bad at strategy games, as me. (And of course I would recommend this game for people, that enjoy kick-♥♥♥ rock/metal tracks in video games (except for the Empire))

This game franchise turned to ♥♥♥♥ after EA brought out Westwood Entertainment....

If you like this game play Command & Conquer Red Alert 1 Or Red Alert 2 w/ Yuri's Revenge Expansion pack for 100+ hours of fun wether it be skirmish or singleplayer, In saying that Multiplayer is no longer an option for this game so if you're looking to play online do a lan party with friends using Evolve (bc ♥♥♥♥ himachi lul)

Imo being a veteran C&C player i would give this game a solid rating of 4/10 because itr doesnt really offer the same nostalgic gameplay as RA2 ect, If you want C&C RA2 and know how to use a torrent downloader & a virtual cd drive message me and ill hook you up fam.

Command and conquer red alert 3 is an all around grand game it plays smooth on the campaign until the boot kicks the horse and it starts to have the odds slightly against you more but not to much, after all no matter what nation your playing as you will have acces to the finest equipment of war, there could of been less meat in the cut scenes but to be honest peoples attention spans get smaller and smaller each generation so I can`t blame the creators because were all slightly perverted, anyways 10/10 for a brilliant follow up to red alert 2

Fun game from "back in the day". I wasted many student loan dollars by not going to class and playing this all day with dormmates.

Back in 2008 i used to play this on my dads pc, after growing up i basically forgot about it.
The summer sale re-united me with it.
Seriously though, i love this game. I never liked RTS's but this one just gets to me. Its hard at first but its really fun when you're good at it. Sure its not as good as RA2, but still.

http://cnc-online.net/ <- go here for multiplayer.

With that out of the way, let me just remind you of what you're getting into here - everything about this game is over-the-top - the story, the characters, the artstyle, the units, the actresses' cleavage. Basically, a Red Alert game like any other, maybe except for that last part.

There are three factions to choose from, the Allies, the Soviet Union, and the Empire of the Rising Sun. Don't ask. Okay, you just had to, fine. Einstein invented the time machine, erased Hitler from the timeline. Soviets got ballsy and started WWII instead of Nazi Germany which is now nonexistent. Then Allies kicked their asses twice, and at that point they invented a time machine of their own to kill Einstein. "Wait, that would mean there is Nazi Germany now and-" No, shut up and go defend your refinery from cryocopters.

Behind the nonsense of a story, there is a jewel of RTS design, hands down. Every unit has a secondary attack, meaning more micro options. There are air, land and sea units (every building except barracks and war factory can be built on water), some can freely switch between two or even all three. Every faction is unique to play down to the way they build their bases, each has something different to offer depending on your preferences and they're overall balanced relative to each other. People might tell you that Allies are the best faction which is kind of true but there was a time when they said the same about Empire so whatever. Just play Soviets, they have bears.

The Good:
Red Alert 3 is a great game. The easy user interface combined with the fast action make me choose this game over Starcraft II on a nearly daily basis. The multiplayer is amazing, and the game is incredibly balanced. Unfortunately, the game does not have a massive online community. You end up running into the same people, time and time again.

The Bad:
As a fan of Red Alert 1 and 2, I found the campaign to be COMPLETELY destroyed by EA. Real actors, combined with cartoony stuff, and Tanya having blonde hair. It made me cringe. If you're looking to play the campaign, and not delve into the incredible tactics within the multiplayer... don't bother. This game is not for you.
