About the Game

The desperate leadership of a doomed Soviet Union travels back in time to change history and restore the glory of Mother Russia. The time travel mission goes awry, creating an alternate timeline where technology has followed an entirely different evolution, a new superpower has been thrust on to the world stage, and World War III is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making World War III a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.

Gamespy is closing its servers the 30th of June. This means that you cannot play this game online anymore.

There are plans that someone else might take over the server. Still I was told that this was not certain.

More information can be found on the Red Alert 3 community website:

Bought this game on 18th July 2014. Registered an EA account to play online. Turns out the servers are offline never to return and have been shut down since 30th june.

I am seeking a refund and or a replacement game namely Planetary anniliation as an apology for steam's shoddy manners in selling a game which is essentially useless and for the time I have spent in vain trying to sort out the issue of not being able to connect to EA's server since the game only told me 'could not connect'.

Store page says nothing at all about gamespy shutting down, btw I have taken screenshots of the steam store page for red alert 3 just incase valve try to update the store page secretly.

C&C: RA3 is one of those very much so rare games that even though all competition from newer RTS-titles, still have managed to remain just as fun to play at the current as back when they were initially released.

With this IP, EA Los Angeles introduced to us (the players) one of the very best of gaming-experiences ever crafted, let alone one which one could ever have asked for. EALA gave us players lots of additional features and tools both advanced as simple that made and still makes this game from the bigger rest.

The Developers gave us the very best, with features such as the fantasticaly simplictic hosting-system of which still runs as smooth as ever and in which one didn't need to set up a entiere f*****g home-based server in-order to do so.
The RA3 Worldbuilder map-editor which was and once again still remains one of the simplest and most time-saving/conserving map-editors ever to have been introduced to the gaming community.
The Brutal smart-AI's,.. although admittedly not being the hardest nor smartest in all of gaming history, did give us quite a ride with their smart and uncountable use of tactics which they 'occasionally'' deployed with great cunning fighting alonside or versus the players.
The SuperWeapons, even if 'yes a bit anoying'' did by fact bring us that underlying sense of fear of imminent destruction and the feeling that the favors might swing to your opponents side in any number of seconds. It made for a crucial part of the RA3 playing mentality.
They gave us a truly unqiue set of factions whom opperated in very distinct ways from one another and of which employed different tactics for the various of tasks.
Lastly, they gave us the Replay, one of the first in-whole trully so good theater-modes as far as RTS-IPs' are concerned.

Now, too finish off this way too overly extensive review of mine I shall end by proclaiming in-accordance with personal opinion, that Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 most-probably am one of the very best game-IPs' to have been crafted in reccent memory.

-:"Spoken In The Common Man's Langauge; It Would Be Fair To Considered It My Nr.1 Favorite Game Of All Time."

The Good:
Red Alert 3 is a great game. The easy user interface combined with the fast action make me choose this game over Starcraft II on a nearly daily basis. The multiplayer is amazing, and the game is incredibly balanced. Unfortunately, the game does not have a massive online community. You end up running into the same people, time and time again.

The Bad:
As a fan of Red Alert 1 and 2, I found the campaign to be COMPLETELY destroyed by EA. Real actors, combined with cartoony stuff, and Tanya having blonde hair. It made me cringe. If you're looking to play the campaign, and not delve into the incredible tactics within the multiplayer... don't bother. This game is not for you.
