About This Game

From Single Cell to Galactic God, evolve your creature in a universe of your own creations.
Play through Spore's five evolutionary stages: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space. Each stage has its own unique style, challenges, and goals. What you do with your universe is up to you.
Spore gives you a variety of powerful yet easy-to-use creation tools so you can create every aspect of your universe: creatures, vehicles, buildings, and even starships. • EVOLVE Your Creature through Five Stages — It's survival of the funnest as your choices reverberate through generations and ultimately decide the fate of your civilization.
  • EXPLORE Other Players' Galaxies — Will your creature rule the universe, or will your beloved planet be blasted to smithereens by a superior alien race?

this game is odd. Many ♥♥♥♥♥ creations, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ creations and other wacky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t await you on planet adlifbadlfujgew with the adfp;aouhfouh-ites and the adfp;aouhfouh space empire. See this planet? Screw this planet? Is the acdfghjlk empire harrasing you? Murder them all the lazy ♥♥♥ way by installing orbital defense guns around your outpost in their home system, then when they least expect it, nuke the crap outta them. Then, make the most humanlike creatures you can, put them into tribal mode, discover them with the adfp;aouhfouh-ites and take them to earth. Yes, you can find Earth in this universe. Then do what less than 1% of the Spore community has done and actually complete the space stage.

So when this game first came out I couldn't play it as my computer wasn't powerful enough. But I heard lots of feedback about it, it sounded like a small minority were happy with the game but I heard A LOT of complaints and major disappointment.

After playing it today, I can't see why those people were disappointed in it, :/ it's a creature simulator/maker, which then goes on into so much more fun! :D.

What i like about this game is that you can make any creature you want! I dislike this game because only ai can become Epics and you can't. and also i dont like how you cant make your own flora, but I have heard that you had issues with flora so i just wanted to tell you this is one of my favorite games!

Spore is a great game. I've been playing for over 24 hours now in total across Spore and Spore: Galactic Adventures. You start off as a cell, evolve into higher level species and eventually become a spacefaring civilization. I've learned a few different things about the game that I feel newer players could have use of knowing.

  • Evolve your creature to max in the creature stage if you plan on playing with Galactic Adventures. You will be using creature stage abilities a lot here, better make sure that it becomes as easy as possible for you.
  • Save often. Spore crashes occasionally, and with the immersiveness of the game, it's easy to forget to save. Spore does NOT have auto-save functionality.
  • One more thing that a lot of people miss: BACK UP YOUR SPORE DATA FOLDERS! I had the game suddenly delete all my progress in Spore without any warning. I don't know the programming logic that would result in such a thing happening, but when I launched Spore yesterday, I was greeted with the main menu with no saves in it. Luckily I already had an older backup of the data as I copied it for playing on another computer once, but I've lost a lot of progress.

Spore data folders may be found at
%appdata%\Spore
as well as "My Spore Creatures" in your Documents folder. Back them up regularly.

Since I've played a little bit, let me tell you why it's awesome:
In General
  • The game has multiple stages: Cell stage, Creature Stage, Tribal Stage, Civilization Stage, and Space stage.
  • You can make friends and enemies
  • YOU CAN KILL EVERYONE
  • You can befriend everyone <3 (at least until you get into the civ stage, where everyone hates you)
  • The video above this review makes this game look nothing like it actually is.
  • 3 Different levels of difficulties: Easy, Normal, and Hard.

Cell stage
  • EAT EVERYTHING AS AN OMNIVORE. EVERYTHIIING!!!!
    *OR*
  • Eat just plants as an herbivore.
  • Eat just meat as a carnivore
  • What you decide to eat is what you eat for the rest of the game. You can also put on herbivore and carnivore mouths on to eat things other than what you mostly ate in the cell stage
  • BECOME THE MOST MONSTROUS SPERM CELL TO EVER EXIST
  • Eat things for DNA points.

Creature Stage
  • ♥♥♥♥♥ monsters.
  • You can literally make almost anything you want.
  • Kill things or socialize with things for dna points to customize your creature.

Tribal Stage
SPOILER IF YOU PLAY THIS ON A CARNIVORE RUN ON HARD, PREPARE YOUR ♥♥♥♥ FOR A LONG GAME OF WAR
  • Food is the new DNA. Run out of food and you're screwed. I'm almost certain that being an herbivore is easier
  • Kill people and destroy their tribes to add to your totem pole
  • Befriend people and add them to your totem pole
  • Hate everyone because they are ALWAYS ♥♥♥♥ING ATTACKING YOU

Civilization Stage
  • Laugh at everyone when you destroy or take over their cities
  • Laugh at everyone who accepts your cheap buy offers
  • Hate every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ military city
  • Place building in your cities in any way you want to.

Space Stage
  • Have no idea what you are doing
  • Find out what to do
  • Become the second largest empire in the galaxy
  • Have more money than you know what to do with
  • Kill everyone
  • Befriend everyone

Thats about all I have to say about this game. Enjoy!

This was one of my first games on steam, and I still play it. I have loved everything about this, from the cell stage to the space age, and any other gamer will say the same. I highly recommend it. The graphics aren't great, but somehow that just adds to the feel of evolving your creature, giving it everything it needs to survive and become sentient. Whether you like shooters, RPGs, MMOs, Sandboxes, Indies or just a casual gamer, YOU NEED TO GET THIS GAME. so stop reading this reveiw, thinking about whether to spend 20.00 USD on something you won't play, AND BUY IT. FULL STOP. PERIOD. THE BUY BUTTON IS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE, NOT DOWN HERE.

This game is so far great, the cell stage can be hard at first but when you get stronger/ bigger its even more fun! I really enjoy the fact that you can make your own species or even genus, this game looks amazing for a 2008 game and i cant wait to get the dlc :)

Started a game.
Got to Space.
Messed around the Creature Creator and made mistakes.
Hooman was born.
Got back to first game.
Met Hooman.
Hooman hates me.
I wonder if it knows I made it so ugly.
Got killed by my own creation.

10/10

Serious review under here.
I used to play this game all the time on a friend's computer. It was my favourite game.
The Summer Steam Sale comes along and I found this gem again.
There is so much stuff to do, it's awesome.
The graphics are okay until you make your own creatures and plants. Then they will pop everywhere and you will have forests of poorly made plants (I'm not saying you can't make good stuff. But you will mostly mess around, and you will be surrounded by your mistakes).
Controls are kinda confusing for me.
But the concept and gameplay is so worth it.
