About This Game

From Single Cell to Galactic God, evolve your creature in a universe of your own creations.
Play through Spore's five evolutionary stages: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space. Each stage has its own unique style, challenges, and goals. What you do with your universe is up to you.
Spore gives you a variety of powerful yet easy-to-use creation tools so you can create every aspect of your universe: creatures, vehicles, buildings, and even starships. • EVOLVE Your Creature through Five Stages — It's survival of the funnest as your choices reverberate through generations and ultimately decide the fate of your civilization.
  • EXPLORE Other Players' Galaxies — Will your creature rule the universe, or will your beloved planet be blasted to smithereens by a superior alien race?

I've had this game since the year it released, and I can safely say I didn't get bored with it for a very long time. After taking a year-long break, I've come back to the game and it still entertains me. The creation system is good and complex, and playing through the story is fairly entertaining as well. The only thing I can say about this, is get the complete pack, or at least Galactic Adventures because the latter especially makes the game far more entertaining. The only real downside to this game I can think of personally is that the community is not anywhere near as active as it used to be, but they seem to be working on fixing that by bringing back featured creatures and such.

Oh wait, I can think of one actual complaint.
Maxis, if you're reading this:
GIVE US BOT PARTS. Even if its a DLC, because very few people have them but very many people want them. The promotion was cool but nowadays its impossible to get them without modding, which you can not do with the steam copy as far as I know. I am a long time player of this game. I have multiple copies of the disc version and all its DLCs, and I rebought the game on steam recently to show my support. There is an audience and potential for this game to make a comeback if you really put in the effort to try.

Thank you for reading my review. Have a nice day.

Its a great game, but I wish there was a full sandbox mode where you can build awesome monsters and use them, no matter how big or small, no matter how powerful or weak. It would be amazing. Besides that note, it is a very fun sandbox game about rising from a cell to civilization. Every stage is different. Thumbs up for me.

Spore, huh?
Oh boy
Where
to
begin...
This is a fun open world game... Wait it's a point and click.. and 2d.. or no, birds-eye view.. No wait, exploration.. No, it's a creator! No.. It's.. I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE!

In all seriousness though, this game starts out simple and fun, with a feeling of "Oh boy, what will I find and kill next?!" whether it's a plant, or a microscopic amoeba! Find parts and eat to evolve and grow stronger to kill and eat more things!
Then, once you're the most powerful, you get put back at the bottom of the food chain on land! Just to start over and find new things to kill and eat!

Then comes the tribal stage, the beginning of a new era with a new way to explore the world, birds eye view... again.. Meet other tribes and kill or befriend new things! Then comes civilization era... Basically the same thing with vehicles, then comes the space stage! Explore the entire galaxy you live in to find all the noobs to wreck that you want, and then get wrecked by a space civilization with way more technology than you that has it's base set up right in the middle of the galaxy. get raged, quit, come back in two months and start over again from the very first age!

Although that sounds long and tedious, the replayability in this game is about 100% replayable, and still fun! And this coming from someone who never replays games, I gotta say it's nice to find a game that I don't just play once and then are too bored with it to play it again

Infinity/10 would play again multiple times until I die

This game is pretty decent, until you get to the Tribal Area and beyond. People are always recommending the Space Level to me, but I just don't see why it's so great. I love the first 2 levels, and I wish the rest of this game was just like it. Too bad it became pretty bad in the end run. I wouldn't recommend it for intense gamers, but for casual gamers instead.
6.2/10

(I still recommend it because there are some fun features in here.)

Since I've played a little bit, let me tell you why it's awesome:
In General
  • The game has multiple stages: Cell stage, Creature Stage, Tribal Stage, Civilization Stage, and Space stage.
  • You can make friends and enemies
  • YOU CAN KILL EVERYONE
  • You can befriend everyone <3 (at least until you get into the civ stage, where everyone hates you)
  • The video above this review makes this game look nothing like it actually is.
  • 3 Different levels of difficulties: Easy, Normal, and Hard.

Cell stage
  • EAT EVERYTHING AS AN OMNIVORE. EVERYTHIIING!!!!
    *OR*
  • Eat just plants as an herbivore.
  • Eat just meat as a carnivore
  • What you decide to eat is what you eat for the rest of the game. You can also put on herbivore and carnivore mouths on to eat things other than what you mostly ate in the cell stage
  • BECOME THE MOST MONSTROUS SPERM CELL TO EVER EXIST
  • Eat things for DNA points.

Creature Stage
  • ♥♥♥♥♥ monsters.
  • You can literally make almost anything you want.
  • Kill things or socialize with things for dna points to customize your creature.

Tribal Stage
SPOILER IF YOU PLAY THIS ON A CARNIVORE RUN ON HARD, PREPARE YOUR ♥♥♥♥ FOR A LONG GAME OF WAR
  • Food is the new DNA. Run out of food and you're screwed. I'm almost certain that being an herbivore is easier
  • Kill people and destroy their tribes to add to your totem pole
  • Befriend people and add them to your totem pole
  • Hate everyone because they are ALWAYS ♥♥♥♥ING ATTACKING YOU

Civilization Stage
  • Laugh at everyone when you destroy or take over their cities
  • Laugh at everyone who accepts your cheap buy offers
  • Hate every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ military city
  • Place building in your cities in any way you want to.

Space Stage
  • Have no idea what you are doing
  • Find out what to do
  • Become the second largest empire in the galaxy
  • Have more money than you know what to do with
  • Kill everyone
  • Befriend everyone

Thats about all I have to say about this game. Enjoy!

Started a game.
Got to Space.
Messed around the Creature Creator and made mistakes.
Hooman was born.
Got back to first game.
Met Hooman.
Hooman hates me.
I wonder if it knows I made it so ugly.
Got killed by my own creation.

Serious review under here.
I used to play this game all the time on a friend's computer. It was my favourite game.
The Summer Steam Sale comes along and I found this gem again.
There is so much stuff to do, it's awesome.
The graphics are okay until you make your own creatures and plants. Then they will pop everywhere and you will have forests of poorly made plants (I'm not saying you can't make good stuff. But you will mostly mess around, and you will be surrounded by your mistakes).
Controls are kinda confusing for me.
But the concept and gameplay is so worth it.

Spore is a fun little game, very similar to Sims (Both developed by Maxis). Although there are a lot of bugs (See what I did there?), the game is still enjoyable and most issues are easily resolved. The graphics aren't too bad and each evolutionary stage offers a different type of gameplay, each are enjoyable, though some more than others. The first stage is somewhat like the popular app Agar.io, then, what lured me into the game was the creature stage; creating your very own monster. Then a little bit of strategy and finally you get to travel into space and discover planets etc.

Whilst the game looks like it was designed to appeal to children (probably was) I'm sure anyone can get some enjoyment from it.
