Gameplay
  • Hellfire is now available to play for CTF and Blitz and has been added to all appropriate server map rotations.
  • Votekick percentage increased to 45%, up from 35%
  • Changed votekick message to include player who initiated the votekick.
  • "Vote by [votekick_starter]: kick [kickable_player]?"
  • Ammo pickups now yield the same 400 hp heal on all armor types when
    • Light - Heals for 400 HP, up from 300.
    • Medium - Heals for 400 hp, down from 462.
    • Heavy - Heals for 400 hp, down from 520.
      picked up.
  • Blueshift has been removed from map rotations by community request. This map will still be available to play on custom servers.
Equipment Changes
  • Automatic Weapons
    • All rapid fire weapons have had RNG based spread completed removed in favor for precise shots based on player skill only.
    • The following weapons have had their damage falloff values adjusted to 80% damage at range. This is to normalize the falloff between other similar weapons.

    • May now fire without locking a target. This will result a dumbfire missile with no tracking ability, similar to the old Titan Launcher.

    • Decreased damage to 350, down from 600.
    • Increased direct hit multiplier to 2.0, up from 1.5. Now deals 700 damage on direct impact.
  • Heavy weapons impulse reduction
    • The following weapons have had their impulse values reduced to 85,000 down from 90,000.

  • Plasma Gun
    • Fire interval reduced to 0.5, down from 0.6
    • Damage reduced to 270, down from 280.

  • Impact Nitron
    • Increased radius to 400, up from 350.
  • Shocklance
    • Damage increased to 600, up from 500.

    • Removed impulse given to hit target.
  • Fixed a long standing issue where beams from sniper rifles would not connect with a target when successfully hit at long distances.
  • Fixed an issue preventing players from equipping a repair tool at a repair station when they have the ELF gun equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where the Flak Cannon / EFG would not reload at various stages in its clip.
  • Fixed an issue where the Flak Cannon / EFG would award multiple kills on a single target.
Vehicles
  • Vehicle ejection speeds have been increased.
    • Light ejects at 50% vehicle speed, up from 40%
    • Medium ejects at 40% vehicle speed, up from 35%
  • GravCycle
    • Health reduced to 1400, down from 2200.
  • Shrike
    • Health reduced to 1400, down from 2800
    • Energy regeneration per second reduced to 10, down from 20
    • Reduced impulse from weapon to 2500, down from 10,000
    • Explosion radius reduced to 200, down from 250
  • Fixed an issue where many projectiles were being killed on direct impact with a vehicle and not dealing damage to them, especially while stationary.
Misc.
  • Additional network optimizations to improve performance.
  • Tweaked load balancing logic to try and keep players on the same physical server between map transitions.
  • Lowered minimum mip settings to allow players to adjust their INI settings for extremely low texture resolutions.
  • Fixed an issue where the weapon HUD would turn back on after match completed even though it had been disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where the laser targeter target location wasn’t being properly set while in 3rd person camera mode.
  • Fixed an issue where empty perks were being shown in the spectator hud.

Tribes: Ascend is the world’s fastest shooter - a high-adrenaline, online multiplayer FPS with jetpacks, skiing, vehicles, and multiple classes.   • Skiing: A slow soldier is a dead soldier. By holding down space bar you remove friction and build momentum to traverse large maps, hunt down targets, and escape enemy territory at intense speeds.

Dead game. Devs left this dead in the water to support Smite. It's a shame as Tribes was a really good franchise from Dynamix.

not too colorfull graphich,requirements very bid skill,not too intresting sounds,time rober,and when you are skiing your speed 300 km/h.

Overall good and fun game, although the recent patch, Out of the Blue did remove a lot of things and kinda broke balance by making Heavy very overpowered and removing base structure upgrades, call-ins and credits to buy vehicles (now you just spawn them in), it also brought back some life to the game.

If you are still deciding if you want to try this game out or not, please do. This game's playerbase is very weak at the moment.

I find myself coming back to this game every so often for one reason, the amazing fast paced combat. Some of my favorite video game memories are in this game. Such as jumping out moving plane, swiping the enemy's flag at 110mph then getting chased by 5 ground troops, 2 bikes and a plane. If you're into fast paced gameplay and good at multi-tasking, this is the game for you.

MULTIPLAYER
Tribes: Ascend features a class-based loadout system. Each loadout specifies what type of armor the player has, along with what weapons and items they carry. Each loadout supports two in-hand weapons, a set of belt items such as grenades or mines and a pack. There are three possible sizes of armor to choose: light, medium and heavy, with three loadouts in each weight group.

I actually played a lot of this game when it first came out, and it looked to be going well for a while. HiRez were chipping in pot bonuses for tournaments, promoting the game on streams and such, it could have been good.

Frankly the game had and has too many flaws to write an all-encompassing review including all of its many faults, but among the highlights have to be HiRez' complete lack of common sense, vision for the final product, and inability to listen to feedback from top players, even on trivial matters (I recall a forum thread pleading for replay-support, where some HiRez employee came in to basically say "we could do this, but we won't"), the redesigns and gross mismanagement of classes/loadouts, lack of decent balance for certain weapons, the GOTTA GO SLOW, the menu UI, the game's performance, the grind, the lies, the microtransactions, the...really, it's The Everything.

Then, years after the game had been aborted, they (I think it was like 1 rogue developer with community feedback and a lack of Jesus in his life) release a patch that is half idiocy and half comp mod, and now even the casuals who stuck with this mess for years don't wanna play the game anymore.

If you actually want a history lesson on why this game is dead, here you go. It's a fantastic tale of incompetence.

Despite all of this. the game could be fun for new players as a f2p title, if it had players. It doesn't. For good reason. Even the very few players it has are undeserved and probably nostalgic/poor people.

Played this game ages ago and thought I would give it a try again. Safe to say its got the same problem which caused me to quit in the first place, once you get to level 10++ you get dumped into the "Big Boy" zones.

Here you will get your butt kicked and handed to you by people who have no life (they get so salty when you managed to kill them in some way) and have been playing this game for ages. The balence in this game is awefull to say the least.

It strikes me as very poor when you are level 11 and paired against people who are 40++. New players will enjoy this game at the start but around lvl 10 will drop off.

Some players are aslo cheap as ♥♥♥♥, by partying with a low level player then barge into the lvl 1 ~ 10 games and wreck everything including your fun.

ive had a weird relationship with this game. over the years ive played it on and off all the time, and let me say this i liked it always, however i never really got good at playing it. so i never really was able to compete with the really good players on a skill based level, however what that ment for me was just that instead of outplaying them i had to outsmart them which was defenitly not impossible, so in the end do i recommend this game? even with all the long time players that will borderline murder you in the 10+ servers? yes. but only under one condition: You have to have a friend that plays this game and who is good at it, so you can play together. trust me this will make your expierience soooooo much better even when playing against long time players.

This is a great free to play game, its very fun and bug free. I do have a few problems.

1: VERY VERY VERY steep learning curve. The movment is very fast and all weapons have a projectile speed. You will have to master your predictions of your projectiles to get a good shot.

2: Slow progress. Leveling up is slow and hard. A game usually lasts 20 minutes to complete and usually dosent give you much experience.

3: It requires a HiRez account to play and that always takes time to get started.

But other than that I do recemend trying this. Also your starting items are very good and are mostly meta so you will not be out guned.

The game is too complicated and cannot compare to what it was before. Also, jumpping into a quick match most of the time puts you in an empty server or in a server with players with skill level far beyond yours. All this makes a new player quit easily. Too bad that hirez have smite and ascend gets 0 attention.
