About This Content

Explorers Map Pack
Ten fantastic single-player maps make up this Civilization V DLC pack designed by Firaxis Games. Five of the maps are based on real-world locations, chosen for their historical interest and gameplay possibilities. The remaining five are scripted map environments. These maps will change from game to game, but will focus on an exciting gameplay theme. From the arid Sandstorm to the lush Amazon, and from the Caribbean to the Bering Strait, these maps will give skillful Civilization V players new lands to conquer!

Sid Meier's Civilization V - Explorer’s Map Pack

This is a minor DLC. This comes with some more maps to add to the game if your tired of the same old default maps from Civilization V or don't have any that interest you in the Steam Workshop. But I wouldn't pay full price which is $5.49. I bought it at 75% off and if you do buy this I would advise you wait till its on sale since its not work 5 bucks.

-Quick Review-
The Civilization V: Explorer's Map Pack adds ten new maps to the game, five maps based on geographic locations, and five maps which will change every time you play.

-Detailed breakdown review-
Story: There is no change in story with this DLC.

Gameplay: I tend to use randomly generated maps over the real world maps, there's not much to say about this DLC, it's one of the ones that you get a lot of maps that you can enjoy experiencing a diverse amount of different areas to play Civilization V on.

Achievements: There are no achievements directly tied to this DLC.

Price: The Civilization V: Explorer's Map Pack is priced at $4.99, the Civilization V: Denmark and Explorer's Combo Pack for $7.49 would be more ideal for saving money, and the best deal for DLC is definitely the Sid Meier's Civilization V: Complete Edition for $49.99.

Conclusion: I definitely used this DLC, I purchased it in a bundle and didn't realize that many of my favorite generated maps came from this pack. It's a skippable addition to the game, but it's an addition I personally used.
If you're financially tight, then you can safely skip this DLC and know we're not having a secret party without you. But if you can pick this one up, it's worth it.

I dig the map modes Continents Plus and Sandstorm, which are contained within. It's hard to justify getting it at full price, but I'd snatch it up on a sale.
