About This Game

You're the Stranger, a mysterious bounty hunter on a mission to bag the ultimate prize. And you need that money like no one else because there is something very wrong with your health and the only way to fix it is a very costly operation. However the nature of your illness remains a secret and as you find out during the game, for a good reason.

In the dusty, undeveloped wastelands of Western Mudos, cantankerous townsfolk find their settlements besieged by belligerent outlaws. Along comes Stranger, a tall, dark and enigmatic bounty hunter with a mission to capture troublemakers and scoundrels and return them to civilized townships for incarceration.
But Stranger is keeping a secret and needs expensive surgery to survive. In his quest to earn enough Moolah, Stranger reluctantly accepts the ultimate bounty from the owner of the Mongo River and suddenly his adventure takes a very different turn.

Pure awesome. This game mixes a fps with a hack and slash type game. It always keeps you on your toes but never fails to suprise. love th twists and turns the plot makes, and yes it has one of the best plots i have played yet.

I was always a fan of playing Oddworld game series. This was my favorite game to play. I grew up playing Oddworld: munch and abe's Oddysee and the other ones. So glad i spent money for it. Just need to get my xbox controller to work though. xD

Gee, this is a blast to the past.

I think this is a pretty fun game that is worth playing and paying for.

The first half of the game might get a litel repetetiv but after the games plottwist (which i will not spoil here) both the story and gameplay changes (to the better).

I might be a litel nostalgic beacuase this was one of those games i saw when i was a kid and was like "ohh man i really want to play that", but i could not find it in stores and then i just forgot about it, but then like 5 years later i foind it on steam and was like "CRAWLING IN MY SKIN"

So yhea, kinda cool game, buy it i guess

What a wonderfully weird game. Great scenarios with suprisingly great writing, and gameplay that really evolves over the course of the game in ways that you don't expect. An under appreciated classic!

It's good for one complete playthrough. As an Oddworld game you get what you'd expect, a tight well crafted game that somehow still isn't as good as the first one that came out before we were all born. Jokes aside if you play this you will enjoy it. There is a possibility that it will take a bit to get running but just Google the problems and you'll be sweet. Oh and there are some really easy to get 1 and 2% achievements that don't require hours of play time to unlock...

I never got to play this on the original Xbox, so I am playing without nostalgia-vision. But I must say, this game is a quirky, unique fun experience. It mixes elements of FPS, third-person platforming, stealth, and action into a different and fun game. I love the idea of the live ammunition, and each kind proves its uses in different situations. The game adds different elements of play as you progress, adding more thought and fun to the mix.

Visually, the game looks pretty good. It's not state of the art graphics, but for a remastered og Xbox game, it looks pretty damn good.

Story-wise, Stranger's Wrath has an interesting story about a seemingly selfish protagonist that sees its plot thicken. What really brings the game together is it's Western-style setting. Oddworld is a very fitting name for the setting, but it's a cool one.

All in all, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is a unique genre-bender that proves that other devs should take the risk once in awhile and break the standard format when it comes to making games. And the current sale price makes it a steal! Definitely worth adding to your library.

Classic game that with the HD remake holds it age very well. Very fun mechanics and play through, you feel like a badass and the game is still fresh with its defining third and first person switchable views, quirky characters and 'live' ammo. A must play in my mind for any FPS story loving fan.

This game is a classic, loved playing it as a kid, glad to have it in my library. There's some problems with this port, but most of them can be be fixed by playing in windowed mode.

The Stranger won't play by your rules, pardner.

A fascinating little game that actively refuses to be pinned down. It's a third-person FPS, but not really, because you are usually shooting tools rather than bullets. It's a personal story of a bounty hunter who's only in it for the money, except when it absolutely isn't. It's a methodical game of eliminating enemies with stealth and cunning – whenever it doesn't happen to be a game about massive explosions. Not even the tutorial seems to grasp quite what this is. Odd, but sort of brilliant at the same time.

This game quickly became a stapple of my childhood back on the original xbox. I remember waking up early before school and playing before the day had even begun. Its a fantastic blend between 1st and 3rd person view that no other game has seemed to capture. It looks great and plays even better for its age. And the crude, dark humor really makes it a part of the Oddworld universe. I will never forget my first runthrough of this game. One of my top five games of all time, hands down.

Buy it.

1. Walks into town.
2. Accidentally punches a chicken.
3. Money comes out.
4. Picks up money as chickens panic, running into their homes and shooting at me.

* * *
5. Chicken says: "Alright~! We're comin' out now, so you just settle down and we won't have to shoot ya!"
6. Chickens come out and resume their business.
7. Smiles at the now beautifully peaceful, rustic environment. Stands and just breathes in the peace.

8. Punches a chicken.

As someone who missed this game when it came to the original XBOX, this was my first time playing it and I must say it is fantastic! When comparing this HD version to the original, you can see that this is one of the best remastered jobs out there. The game still looks very good by today's standards with all the settings cranked up (via Nvidia Control Panel).

This game also has one of the most innovative mechanics I've come across in a while: live ammo. You must hunt your ammo. This is a really cool twist and the ammo variety is quite great. The bounty system in the first half of the game is really fun and the second half succeeds as an action game as well. The blend of third/first person is also done particularly well.

It's hard for me to really have any complaints witht this game. I was just surprised at how much fun I had playing it. If you missed it the first time or even played the original, I highly highly reccomend picking this title up. Here's hoping a sequel can eventually be made to expound on this Wild West gem.

The biggest hidden gem on my steam list and in gaming. Don't believe me? Pick it up for yourself and find out. Strangers Wrath is the most creative world I've ever seen, no game has beaten it to this day.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this game in its entirety, the Oddworld universe is represented extremely well in this game with its dry humor and incredibly dark setting.

There is not much of a connection between Strangers Wrath and the other Oddworld games beyond small refernces to products manufactured by the Glukkons and Vykkers (Bad guys in the previous games) spread throughout the Mongo Valley, but this detachment from the other games is not a bad thing as it gave the game an ability to explore more of the Oddworld universe and what inhabits it.

Some bad things about the game, well the actual story and gameplay was enjoyable and the PC port controls were really smooth but trying to get a controller working on my end was an extreme pain so I just gave up. The soundtrack was freaking radical, whenever the tunes started it really helped set the scene but the downside to this was the music sometimes bugged and stopped playing for me!

In short if you can't be bothered reading whats above (Sounds better in my head). I really recommend you get this game if you are a fan of the Oddworld and its dark setting. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=283782140
If you just found the first two games a pain in the egg to complete this is a refreshing ride.
