Too bad they aimed for a COD-like game instead of keeping the original charm from 1.x 2.x. Ahh i miss good old days of AA, when it was a slow tactical gameplay. :(

Although this game has been abandoned, it was still one of the best FPS games out there. Not only was it free, but it offered a completely different kind of tactical gameplay not found other shooters. The entire games foundation was based on teamwork and communication and required you to think before you pulled your trigger.

It is still playable but you'll find that the amount of servers to play on small... and the amount of players even fewer.

Fell back in love with FPS gaming with this one and met many good friends over it. Hard to imagine I didn't know what I was doing when I first installed AA3. Most of us moved on to AAPG but this one will always have a fond place in my heart.

Propaganda/Recruitment tool.
The games basically dead, and, when you did find a server its basically just grenaider heaven.
It's OK but leaning a bit more to the bad side.

Early versions of America's Army were great as they stuck strong to realism. Now, though, you'll get a more realistic military experience from the Arma series.

So im next to a statue, i see 2 people hiding behind a car so i shoot at the with grenade launcher, someone walks infront at the same moment and gets hit in the face, I then shoot the other 2 and retreat behind the car they were just at, kill another, and now i am permanently banned from that server. 10/10

This game is for players that want maximum realism, strategy and teamplay in combat. In short it's awesome and it's only drawback is that there's not a lot of people playing it these days on steam servers.

Obviously there are games that are graphically more advanced, but pretty graphics are not why this game was made, or why people play AA3.

When I first started playing this game, I was almost shocked how easily I got killed or seriously wounded. Well but this is combat in real war, you can't take 10 bullets and continue to run.
