So I hope this review isn't too long but I just want to give my opinions on this game. So pretty much I found it after watching a gameplay video of Audiosurf 2 (You should watch it!!! Please watch!!)

After checking out both audiosurf 1 & 2 I decided to get 1 as it was cheaper and looked very similar. I am so glad that I purchased it as my $5 went to a really good unique game. If you can't already tell from previous reviews, I love games that are unique and well let me just say that is one of the main reasons that this game is great. It is unique any game before, I would barely call it a game too. I love to listen to music and play at the same time to get an escape from life :P

If this game looks good to you, get it. It's definitely worth a try and if you don't like it... well you can refund it :\
    7.5/10

    Pros:
-Relaxing, intense, exciting or calming depending on the music you play.
-Procedurally generated levels! Works with any song you play!
-Nice gameplay that might be sort of fimilar to some

    Cons:
-Some songs work better than others (hardly a con)

If you like music and games, this is for you.

It fits well with the music to as I like House style music which creates fast gameplay and much harder challenges.

Any kind of music will work and I think that the rhythms are super accurate with the colour blocks, different modes also add variation.

Addictive fun in which you can ride all of your completely legal and totally non-pirated music for hours at a time.

Great game for anyone who likes puzzle games and/or music, and if you like competition there is even global scoreboards for every song and you can compete for the high score! Different difficultys for all skill levels and over a dozen different modes to choose from.

As a music lover with over 400+ cds, I figured this would be the perfect game for me. It wasn't. In order to play the music through iTunes, you need to download Quicktime. However, QuickTime is no longer available for Windows. So it's a waste of $10 unless you really, really enjoy the Orange Box soundtrack.

Audiosurf constructs tracks based on the tempo of songs. That track goes uphill in slow moments and tumbles downhill when the music speeds up, twisting as the song changes. Scattered over the course are coloured blocks, placed so you pass them to the beat. Depending which mode you select the aim is either to avoid certain blocks or collect them in clusters of three or more on a board behind you. It’s like Guitar Hero with the fretboard re-imagined as a psychedelic rollercoaster hanging in space.

Occasionally the puzzle element can distract but that's why other modes are there. Racing over the track trying to time your lane-switching to the beat gives you a new appreciation of your chosen music. Freddie Mercury will never know it but he was one of the most talented level designers of all time. I didn't used to like Queen but then I played their songs in Audiosurf and now I recognise 'Fat Bottomed Girls' for the genius it is.

This game is awsome for listening to your audio, and interacting with it. Just don't play if you have epilepsy, or other seziure problems.

Amazing if you already have music on your pc. If not then you're just kind of listening to the music that comes with your computer.

If I gave it a star rating, it'd get a three out of five, but I'm stuck with Steam's Recommend or Do Not Recommend. I expected a bit more from the game given its near impeccable reviews. I'd say about 35% of my iTunes library, for whatever reason, simply refused to load into the game. I had to buy Angel by Aerosmith again to get it to play. You'll have the author, then the albums if there's more then one, but then... nothing. The iTunes library itself plays the songs just fine. It's the game that, for whatever unknown reason, refuses to recognize the song's existence. Furthermore, the game glitches all the time; the picture will cut up and display in strange ways, and the game stutters a lot (though it is admittedly difficult at times to tell what's stuttering and what's just a particularly powerful beat in the song). Lastly, the scoring sytem makes literally zero sense. In one game, I hit every single colored tile in Mono Ninja. The only award I got was Match 11. Not to mention that when you try to calculate the high scores of others, they most often make no sense. How can someone with Clean Finish and Match 7 have gotten a score of 122,473? But I guess it runs, and it's a good way of killing time.

    Absolutely great game!

Although it doesn't work great with every type of music it's still epic. You can either relax with your favorite song or try to get into the highest of scores, it's amazing.

We need more of this type of games.
