    Pros:

    -Great graphics
-Songs of your choice, since you use your own audio files
    -Fun, addicting gameplay
    -Instant addiction
-Not that heavy on your system, mine is almost 7 years old, and still runs this game at 60fps on highest settings
    -You can git gud easily

    Cons:
    -Instant addiction
-Almost blew up my computer by making the game make a level for a 15 minute song
-Lot of songs are surprisingly popular on this game, so your score is low on the leaderboards, but you gotta git gud

As of writing this review, 12 hours and 19 minutes from now marks the 5th year I've had my steam account. I figured that it would be interesting to review the first game I bought on steam almost 5 years ago now. Overall, Audiosurf is a novel concept. Take the iTunes visualizer, put it on steroids, and you have this game. The entire focus is to play through songs of your choosing on the track. Audiosurf executes the concept rather well through varying difficulties and modes via the different characters you can ride as. Ranging from mini games of Bejewled on the scoring table to controlling two ships at once, the game shakes things up to keep things interesting. Simply put I'm glad I bought this game and enjoyed it, because through this platform I have spent many hours that I am happy to never get back. Regardless of my nostalgia, you should give this game a shot simply because it's an interesting concept.

    AudioSurf Review

I really like AudioSurf because it is fun to try and avoid the grays, plus you can add music to listen to while playing it. If you like music games you should get AudioSurf. Though, it does get old pretty quick unless you play all characters at least twice and beat all your songs. Overall, I rate AudioSurf 4 stars.

Doesn't work anymore, just randomly stopped working one day.. saying about how a channel needed for this project was unable to load with a random string of numbers and letters. Then asks me if I'd like to download the latest Quest3D Viewer. Please fix this game, I miss it :(

this is a cool little game any mp3 can be used to make a track then u race for all the colored blocks for points. There are other modes that can really change the game feel for faster reaction times.

Riding the game in the most simple forms is one of the best party gags ever. Even at large parties. Very much at celebrations. But also single player it can be very relaxing at times, if you crave it.

    This music game is gold.

It's small and basicly just one of those games your steam library could need to be a swiss army knife.

Having scored 100% achievements in this game, I feel quite qualified to rate it 8/10 - would reccommend.

As every game, it has pros and cons, and many users have stated them at great length. You should read other reviews, if you haven't yet.

However, there are two key points that I haven't seen (so far) in the comments.

As a downside, this game fails to sync the raceway speed to the audio track. Don't get me wrong, the blocks are perfectly synced to notes or beats. But the speed of your spaceship is constantly shifting up and down, for no reason.

Therefore, you may compare this game to trying to jump into a train that is constantly and abruptly changing speed. In more upbeat trance songs, you barely notice this. But play a song like Arctic Monkeys - Do I wanna know? and it'll be hell. And not because it's a hard song or anything. It's just impossible to jump in and out of a lane if you don't know how fast you'll be going by the time you get to your color cube.

Song selection can be quite tricky for this game.

On the contrary, as an upside, it is remarkable that this game came out of a single person's work. Yes, it was initially developed by one person, although I'm not 100% sure at which point other people jumped in. Even Audiosurf 2 is a game made by few people.

You might wonder why this matters. Well, it's not often you see nowadays games being developed by one person or super tiny teams. And when you see them, they are crap. However, even though the graphics of this game feel a bit outdated (you may play Audiosurf 2 for that case), you can feel the passion put into the game, since it was not developed by a 25.000 people team with a 25 billion dollar budget. You can see how things were prioritised, and I'm happy to report that gameplay was the priority in this game.

Original idea, passion put into it, simple GUI, easy to learn, simple controls.

    Therefore: 8/10 - would recommend.
