To navigate the labyrinth, click here.

Dragon Vault Update

Get ready to go out of this world! New futuristic fashions have invaded the Dragon Vault, along with Machina hair and face styles, new hair styles for many classes, and the new Champion’s Package.

Then crack open a Dragon Egg, and see if you can find a UFO mount, a cloud spirit, and the gorgeous Blinding Constellation wing, tail, and decal set!

Mercenary Exploration System

Altera is a big world, and sometimes even the most experienced explorer doesn’t have time to see everything. Now you can send out brave mercenaries to explore the frontier for you! These mercs can complete exploration objectives on your behalf, and help you earn the riches that once graced the royals of Val Astrum.

Choose a total of 3 mercenaries; either ones you own or ones that you can rent.

Wait out the timer to receive your reward. The longer and more difficult the mission, the better chance of receiving awesome rewards!

Guild Update

The guild system has been updated to make it easier to use and level your guild! Guild EXP now turns into Guild Points (GP), which can be used to level up your guild, receive guild rewards, and more. The ‘GP Limit’ value increases as your guild level increases. Guild Points are automatically added to the guild after clearing dungeons, nests and completing guild achievements. Guild member contribution can also now be seen in the Guild window.

Guild Rewards have been streamlined so that the rewards can be viewed more easily. Most items in the ‘General’ sub-tab can be purchased by all guild members, while items in the ‘Guild Rewards’ sub-tab can only be acquired by guild members of officer level or higher.

Additional information:
- The amount of points required to max out a Guild Level has been reduced.
- The amount of points received after completing an achievement has been reduced.

The following new Guild Rewards have been added.
- Guild Member Damage Boost: +1%/+3%/+5%
- Guild Member Hero EXP Boost: +5%/+10%/+15%
- Guild Point Boost: +5%/+10%/+15%

Dragon Gem Enhancement

Lv. 90 Dragon Gems can now be enhanced in much the same way that armors and weapons can be enhanced. However, the materials needed for each enhancement must be extracted from other Lv. 90 Dragon Gems. Stats that pertain to the Dragon Gem will be upgraded when enhancing the gem. Keep enhancing to find out the max level of the Dragon Gem!

Hero System

After reaching the max level of Lv. 90, you can now earn Hero EXP when you clear a max level dungeon. This new Hero System allows you to continue leveling by an additional 50 levels! By continuing to level up, your stats and damage increase, making you stronger and ready to take on end-game content. This system is shared between all characters on a single account. The Hero Level UI has been added to the ‘Character’ window so that you can see your progress. There are limits as to how many levels you can earn on your characters, and there is a total limit to the amount of Hero EXP that your account can earn each week.

Damage Counter

You will now be able to see how much damage you and or your party does in a single dungeon or nest run! Use this to help analyze your attacks and make the most of your party’s run!

The damage meter information can be found in the ‘Overview’ menu (or press the ‘N’ key). In the ‘Damage’ tab, press ‘Start’ to begin recording the damage done by all party members during the dungeon or nest run. Press the ‘Stop’ button to finish the recording. The ‘Dungeon’ tab automatically records all of your damage done in all dungeons you visit during the play session. This information disappears when you log off.

Bug Fixes

- The Dark Avenger quest can be completed.
- Various texts have been updated.

UI Changes

- NPC Portal Mages have been updated. Open your map and click on an NPC or portal to travel there instantly.
- Tooltips have been added to the ‘Mount’, ‘Ally’, and ‘Mercenary’ tabs of the ‘Character’ window.
- New ‘Damage Type’ text has been added in skill descriptions.

Achievement Changes

- Guild achievements have been updated.
- Daidalos Nest achievements have been added.

NPC Changes

- The Spirit of Wintertide has left Altera. Santa Orc has stayed behind.
- The NPC Arena Shop has been updated: Lustre’s price and purchase count has been lowered. The Hero Level EXP Potion and Epic Plate Pouch have been added.
- NPC Sanders’ Mercenary Pouch (Rare Grade) has had its required purchase level reduced to Lv. 24.
- NPC Blacksmith’s Technique Accessories from Lv. 24 to Lv. 70 have been removed. The Dragon Gem Enhancement system has been added.

Skill Changes

- Gladiator - 10%
- Dark Avenger - 12%
- Destroyer - 13%
- Barbarian - 8%

“If you're looking to dip your toes in the free-to-play ocean, Dragon Nest is certainly a good place to do it.”
8.5 out of 10 – IGN

“Besides from a few quirks, Dragon Nest provides an enjoyable experience with fast-paced gameplay that many other action MORPGs barely come close to reaching. Whether you’re a casual or competitive gamer that wants a good action fix, Dragon Nest in the year of 2014 will do nicely to fit the bill.”

About This Game

Dragon Nest is an online action role-playing game that combines the blazingly fast combat and visually stunning attacks of a console game with the epic story and role-playing elements of classic MMORPGs. What makes Dragon Nest unique among action RPGs is the third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective. This provides both a unique combat “feel” reminiscent of first-person shooters and lets players enjoy the graceful and ferociously vicious combat moves of the characters.

Key Features

Lightning Fast Combat:
Unlike any other role-playing game, Dragon Nest features a refreshingly fast-paced, non-targeting, twitch-based combat system where the action never lets up. Be light on your feet and string together devastating combos as hordes upon hordes of enemies surround you, or when facing off against other players online in intense PvP skirmishes.

Epic Boss Battles:
Each of Dragon Nest's various dungeons has a massive monster guarding its prize. Minotaurs, dragons, demons, trolls - these are just some of the horrors you'll face. Special dungeons called NESTS act as multi-stage lairs for some of the most intense and challenging boss battles, but the harder the fight, the greater the rewards.

Choose Your Hero:
Dragon Nest features seven robust character classes to choose from, each with their own distinct strengths and abilities. Whether you're a ranged fighter, a close combat brawler, or a skilled mage, Dragon Nest has you covered.

For some clarification: I have played this game since Open Beta around September 2011, long before it was released on Steam so I'd average around maybe 5,000 hours give or take a thousand.

This game used to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. The combat is phenomenol, still kind of is. The story is gripping although a little trope-y. Most if not all of the classes are unique in their own way, each having their own playstyle. Now why would I not recommend this game despite all the good things, it's only because the cons heavily outweigh the pros.

Let's start with content. Content is one of the biggest concerns I have had with this game for a while. The level caps have increased from 16, 24, 32, 40, 50 etc., with each cap including a couple of small 'nests' which are more or less instances with 4-5 bosses with some mechanics built in, a raid which is essentially like the nests only with 8 people instead of 4 and then the hell raid which adds a couple mechanics and makes everything stronger. Each cap lasts about 5-8 months with the exception of 40 cap which lasted nearly a year and some odd months. These months are filled with grinding the same dungeons and 'nests' week to week to try to get the best gear.

Now we'll talk about gear. Gear follows a familiar rarity system, Normal, Magic, Rare, Epic, Unique, and Legendary. Normal to Rare is highly disregarded when playing Dragon Nest, if you're seen wearing them you'll be kicked from a party without hesitation, but we'll get into community in a bit. Epic gear is obtained from doing the nests over and over again for materials to craft. There's usually 2 different Epic sets for each cap, one being for magic-based classes, the other being for physical based classes. Unique gear is obtained from completing the normal raid and getting it dropped randomly. Legendary gear is recieved from drops in the hell version of a raid. Essentially to get the best gear in the game you essentially have to just have immense luck, and not to mention a team which can actually clear a raid consistently.

Gear does not change any part of attire except for your weapons, so if you're looking to be a fashionista without forking over some cash you're out of luck. When it comes to making your character not look like the average joe, you'll usually have to pay 15-30 dollars on a costume. A lot of the time you won't be able to mix-and-match costumes to get the "ultimate" look just based on the fact that you'll lose a set bonus. These set bonuses get better the more you pay up, and if you ever do feel the need to mix-and-match you'll have to get lucky buying gachapon and getting the single item that allows you to do so, did I mention you need one for each piece of equipment you wish to alter? That's not all, if you're looking to get the highest rarity costumes you'll need to fork over even more cash to get sets and fuse those set pieces together for a CHANCE at a higher rarity costume piece. Good luck!

Class balancing is another of the bigger concerns with the game. Every so often there's a balancing patch, when this patch comes around there will ALWAYS be that one class that excells over all the others. This a lot of the time leads to people completely shunning other classes based on their tier list. And when it comes to nerfing a class, the nerf will just be making another class significantly more powerful than the other. If you're thinking about exclusively playing one class and still being able to join up with others then I'm sorry to say that's not the case.

Let's get to talking about the community. It's a fairly small game so the community is kind of scrunched up. A lot of the people are generally really nice, but when it comes to actually playing the game, personalities may be a bit skewed. A fair bit of players, especially the people who have been around for a long while, which make up a fair portion of the game, are elitist in one way or another. There is a list of requirements for joining parties ranging from having proper gear, the highest enchantments, the best gems, etc. It doesn't matter if you're trying to learn how to do the latest nest or something to that extent, you will be kicked on the spot if the party leader is not appeased by your gear. This game is without a doubt not friendly to new players, I hate to say.

PVP is one of the few things this game has left to offer, and even in that case PVP has had an incessive lag since the game was released till now.

I could keep going on and on about all the problems with the game, but I feel I've covered the bare essentials. A couple years ago I would've recommended this game, but unfortunately it just fell into the usual Korean MMO loop of unfortunate cases.

Run from this game. The developers talked about the new level 90 update for weeks. Saying if going to have a ton of new content. Patch day hits and the devs gave us a few level 90 dungeons and TOOK OUT EVERY DUNGEON BELOW 90! On top of that, they took away higher diffculties that allowed players to get higher exp rewards. They took away more content than they put in. These developers are terrible. I wont even hit on their Pay to Win ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t cosmetics and allys. Bad game is bad.

So background info I started last year o the 3rd anniversary i have 5 max chars lvl 80 the different base characters are, warrior, archer, sorceress, cleric, kali, assassin, tinkerer, lencea, and dark avenger. You a loli? tink is for you.Just a plain pervert?Kali 10/10 would jerk again.Wanna look like a psychopath (imo)?Lenceas are crazed.
Well now what to say about dragon nest
There are so many good points about this game and some not so good so lets get into them

Pros:
-Not much of a pay 2 win
-Mercenary system really cool though some ppl dont lik it
-market most often very reasonable
-honestly not that hard to get gold you wont need it at lower lvls save it
-you will as a low lvl noob get guild inv to lesser guilds, the ppl in the guild will what they call power lvl you and you can lvl up faster
-many FREE exp boosts some BIG some small
-somewhat balanced its ok
-20 FREE character slots
-the more max lvl chars you hav you will get a perm buff for all chars not max lvl its 50% more exp for killing monsters and clearing dungeons per max lvl char
EX.I have 5 max lvl chars so all my non max lvl chars will each get 250% extra exp FREE
-EVENTS EVENTS EVENTS EVENTS EVENTS EVENTS did I mention there was a lot of events?constsantly you will get free items in ur mail for random as sheit
-You can be strong as sheit without paying EX.my main char a sorceress 1st spec mystic 2nd spec war mage has 52k-61k magic damage wich is really good
-crafting VERY resonable
-Free lvl up box for all chars each time you lvl up you can open box up for good stuff lik free specialization point reset
-mentor system really good you get extra exp he gets mentor points used for idefk i cant remember, and after reaching certain lvl u get free rings sent in mail from mentor )though he didnt really send it to you it just says he did)
-getting gold during certain times can be hard, EX. right now the 4th anniversary is going on and it gives you enhancing matterial that you can sell and get good amnts of gold. afterwards you ask?Grind lvl 70-80 repeating quests for lik 8 gold each.
Cons:
-Gender locked
-If you want to be OP lunar Knight wich is warrior then swordsman then lk
-You get slightly more damage (either physical or magical depends on class) from buying a costume set
-wanna run any dragon nest above green dragon? You gotta be lvl 80(current max) and know mechs and be expd or bam kicked
-MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS MECHS oh and MECHS only for desert dragon, black dragon, and red dragon mechs are required otherwise you can be lvl 50 and lvl 80s will just carry you through the nest killing everything in their path
-oh did I mention if you wanna run a bdn you also need good taismans and crests as well as good enhanced gear and good dragon gems or its bam kicked not all players do this but some do
-enhancing cheezus you can enhance up to +6 without needing item protection jellies wich is reasonable but past that the jellies onl stop your item from breaking you can still fail MANY MANY MANY times in a row
-want your costume permanent? You have to pay an extra couple bucks for each piece of costume (gloves, boots, headpiece, body, legs)
-wanna stop seeing the world chat?Too damn bad deal with it at least its small in the corner
-lvl 50-60 griiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiindin on that wood so hard you got splinters up your, yeah you get the point
-warrior, archer, sorceress, main story the same kali differs slightly, assassin differs greatly so does tinkeres and lencea (i think, i gt bored of my lencea) dark avenger same as warrior
-little original character customzation wanna look cooler buy shir from the dragon vault
-Want that awesome mount that just came out?Buy a ♥♥♥♥ton of dragon eggs and hope to get lucky
-They have a very sneaky way of tricking you into buying dragon eggs dont be fooled though, it will say somethin lik 35% off originaly 45,000($45) nx now 29,000($29)nx!Great deal right? You better hurry and get some nx, WRONG its been that way since i first started a year ago and has stayed that way all this time and im fairly sure it will never change.Though some items do actually go on sale for a limited time.
-You can buy wings, rings, decals, earings, necklaces, and spiritsand etc off the market but they all either look lik ♥♥♥♥ or look good and are expensive af.

Well i must be off as it is getting quite late and i have "stuff" to do do not be discouraged by the cons the pros will outweigh them overall game rating about 9/10 imo great game though many players have long periods where they stop playing i did as well but it always has a certain appeal that sparks back up after a while and encourages you to come back and you will.Well goodbye if you even read this far ik i lefgt many things out but this is kinda just off the top of my head.

*sorry kali ive kept you waiting long enough* fap fap fap fap fap 10/10 would fap, jerk, masturbate, and anything else to kali again

Let me answer this for you. "Why 718 hours? Shouldn't you like this game?" That means ♥♥♥♥.

Overall, this games idea of balancing is complete trash. Haven't really touched it since their most recent mass balancing, and oh my god. Terable.. (thats a joke.. Tera.. + terrible) Honestly, this game should be killed, and burned. Over and over.
You might not take my review seriously, but honestly.. Its balancing is terrible and one of the main redeemable aspects of this game was the PvP.

See. This game can be summed up into a few things. Fashion Nest, FemiNest, TinkNest, um.. EyedentitySucksNest. Overall, this game is a giant fashion simulator, thats not a big issue. The issue is the fact that theres a huge lack of content, and the overall easening up the game this much. Not only they made the game easier, they buffed the characters way too much, or even nerfed them way too much.

PROS

- Great combat, best any action mmorpg has seen.

- A nice variety in terms of classes/specializations

- A nice roster, 9 classes, 1 dark class and 1 light class. (not including specializations which make each class feel somewhat unique)

- Nice music to accompany you during the dungeon grinding

- Low amount of grinding nowadays, especially after you level one character up.

CONS

- Balancing. All of it. Eyedentity keeps certain classes top of the rest, and you can see the difference. Its major. Engineer will 9.99999 times out of 10 will out dps you unless if they are so under geared. As in PvP, PvP is just a absolute ♥♥♥♥fest right now with EXinstants.

- Community (Mainly toxic, yes there is people on there who are actually decent people, but most of them are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s that don't know any better)

- PvP and PvE is extremely lacking.

- Achievement shop being completely scrapped ruining anyones work and time tossed into that.

- End game difficulty for the people who cannot do the only Dragon Nest out there is extremely easy to the point where you can solo any of them with gear from last cap (on some classes)

- I won't say gender lock is a bad thing, it really isn't. ITS bad when the developer only wants to create female characters. 6 females vs 3 males. Honestly, gender lock has never been an issue for me. But when you promise a male class then release a female, you basically tell your players ♥♥♥♥ you.

- Overall difficulty of the game scrapped? Normal dungeons went from meh to everything being your ♥♥♥♥♥ if you were even somewhat geared the last cap.. its funny really.

- Guilds being somewhat lack luster, this somewhat has to do with the community. Which is really bad generally.

- No decent way to make money anymore.

Overall, there is a lot more I can dislike about the game, and honestly.. They killed their own game. I honestly enjoyed every minute of it before the patch. The PvP was fair for the most part, the PvE was nice. Their overall balancing and overall revamping just ruined this game besides the community. Plus the scrapping of content. I cannot recommend this game, and I won't because they will not change the issues that I've brought up.
