Feel the Fury of the Red Dragon!

Feel the fury of the Red Dragon with this new Lv. 80 dungeon! Pether, once thought to have lost the source of his power, has returned stronger than ever. By ripping a hole in the fabric of space-time, he has re-created the nest of Rajuul on the island of Ravea. You must venture to the far side of the continent, enter the nest, and destroy Pether once and for all!

In the first stage, you take on Flame Lord Barbatos – the King of Dragons. He delivers a Sky Drop attack that absorbs your energy! He also summons multiple dragons to his defense. Jump quickly to stay on your feet! At certain percentages, he sets the floor aflame, and you must be quick to escape the flames.

Then you must face down Monarch of Pain Crudelis, who attacks with a mix of fire and ice. Beware his Fire Tornadoes and deadly Flame Rush! Heat is not the only danger as he also possesses fearsome Ice Spikes and an Ice Field. At certain percentages, you must destroy his spawns to escape certain death!

In the second stage, you face Guardian of Flames Nouvelle. He has a deadly Rush Attack, and attacks with spears in addition to fire. He is also not alone, as he summons three flame statues to fight beside him!

In the third stage, you enter the Hyper Dynamo Core. Controlled by Jasmine, it can release a devastating Laser Attack, as well as fire missiles! At certain percentages, you must also prevent the core from exploding!

In the fourth stage, you encounter Immortal Knight Tacitus. He delivers powerful Flame Sword Attacks, and also has the ability to teleport in order to attack you quickly! At certain percentages, you must prevent him from absorbing lava into his blade. As he nears his demise, you will have to work hard to dodge his attacks.

In the final stage, you face the Black Dragon’s Phantom, who is armed with Fire Tornadoes and deadly Black Dragon Breaths. His Claw Stomps can take you down, and he also possesses the ability to confuse you.

Once you defeat the Black Dragon’s Phantom, you must face the Red Dragon himself, Red Dragon King Pether. The Red Dragon can curse one member of your party, while burning the other members with his fiery breath! He can also create deadly Fire Tornadoes, or cause damage with Claw Attacks. The Dark Avenger Arrives

A Fire in the Darkness
The Avenger is a twisted version of the regular Warrior character class. The son of a famous warrior and Dragon Cultist, the Avenger is obsessed with gaining great power in order to prove his worthiness to his father. In his mad desire for power, he turned to the darkness and it has enveloped him. Slowly, the darkness consumes his mind and body, even while he has attained the great power which he sought. The Avenger must face his own shadow, an evil twin created from his nightmares. Only by defeating him, can the Avenger unlock the specialization of Dark Avenger, a true master of the darkness.

The Dark Avenger is the first Hero class to come to Altera. If you have an existing Level 80 character, you can create a Level 60 Avenger class character. Otherwise, your Avenger class character will start at Level 1. The Avenger becomes a Dark Avenger at Level 50 and can reach the Level 80 cap.

Fiery Skills
The Dark Avenger’s specialty is creating deadly combo attacks by using his fire blades. He relies mostly on Strength and Agility, and his medium- and long-range attacks deal significant damage to enemies while keeping him out of most enemy range. With the addition of high movement speed, the Dark Avenger can easily slip into position, deal maximum damage, and get out before the enemy knows what hit them.

By using his skills as an Avenger against enemy monsters, he generates and stores up “Fury”. Once this resource is full, he can utilize it to transform into a full-power Dark Avenger. In this state, all skill cooldowns are halved and his main skills are enhanced. However, the transformation only lasts as long as there is “Fury”. Once this resource runs dry, the Avenger must continue to attack enemies to gain more.

“If you're looking to dip your toes in the free-to-play ocean, Dragon Nest is certainly a good place to do it.”
8.5 out of 10 – IGN

“Besides from a few quirks, Dragon Nest provides an enjoyable experience with fast-paced gameplay that many other action MORPGs barely come close to reaching. Whether you’re a casual or competitive gamer that wants a good action fix, Dragon Nest in the year of 2014 will do nicely to fit the bill.”
4 out of 5 – MMOHuts

About This Game

Dragon Nest is an online action role-playing game that combines the blazingly fast combat and visually stunning attacks of a console game with the epic story and role-playing elements of classic MMORPGs. What makes Dragon Nest unique among action RPGs is the third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective. This provides both a unique combat “feel” reminiscent of first-person shooters and lets players enjoy the graceful and ferociously vicious combat moves of the characters.

Key Features

Lightning Fast Combat:
Unlike any other role-playing game, Dragon Nest features a refreshingly fast-paced, non-targeting, twitch-based combat system where the action never lets up. Be light on your feet and string together devastating combos as hordes upon hordes of enemies surround you, or when facing off against other players online in intense PvP skirmishes.

Epic Boss Battles:
Each of Dragon Nest's various dungeons has a massive monster guarding its prize. Minotaurs, dragons, demons, trolls - these are just some of the horrors you'll face. Special dungeons called NESTS act as multi-stage lairs for some of the most intense and challenging boss battles, but the harder the fight, the greater the rewards.

Choose Your Hero:
Dragon Nest features seven robust character classes to choose from, each with their own distinct strengths and abilities. Whether you're a ranged fighter, a close combat brawler, or a skilled mage, Dragon Nest has you covered.

Background Information:
Dragon Nest is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG published by Nexon NA (Steam Version).

Play Style/Game Play
It uses a non-targeting combat system (which most MMORPG have), so basically you have full control of the players movement using the keys "W, A, S, D". You are able to use your skills using the short cut keys "1-10" or change your key bindings to see which better suits you. Dragon nest consists of 2 game modes or 2 of both, PvP and PvE. You start off as PvE but later through the levels you can change to PvP or do both. The game consists of 8 Characters of which they have their own unique skills and abilities.

Classes have 'specialisations' where they can change into their first and second job and focus on that particular area of combat. Specialisations are granted at level 15 and level 44.
The 8 classes include:
  • Warrior
  • Archer
  • Cleric
  • Sorceress
  • Tinkerer
  • Kali
  • Assassin
  • Lancea
For more information of the classes and what specialisations they have go to the Nexon website @ http://dragonnest.nexon.net/guides/class-guide

Like every game they have their pros and their cons. Here are mine:
+Gameplay system. The choice of movement and mechanics are great
+Community. Everyone is nice but you do get the occasional person that isn't so nice
+Exp rate. There are so many opportunities you get with bonus exp to level up your character as fast as possible
+Simple. Easy to learn but takes practice to learn the mechanics of the characters. Practice makes perfect

-The lack of designing your character. The class you choose has already determined of what type and style you are. You don't really have that much of a choice to change your personal features, and the gender has been set to that class.
-Repetitive. The game can get a little repetitive at times, doing the same dungeons over and over again. But it isn't really that much of a bother if you have a friend to play with you

I've played Dragon Nest when it was in Beta, but I've kept quitting and coming back 3 times. I've finally stuck with the game. Leveling can be hard at times and you have no choice but to the grind to get to the level you desire, but that's with most MMORPGs. When I reached the level cap, I thought it was worth all the hard times of grinding. You'll think that reaching the max level will be the end, but it's a whole new chapter and there are far more things to do and goals to be set.

Here's my friend's guide for leveling:

tl;dr. it's good.
