New Hero: Silver Hunter


Welcome the next Hero class to arrive in Altera, the Silver Hunter! A variant of the Archer class, the Silver Hunter sets traps to subdue her enemies, and is aided by a summoned Falcon which has its own attack skills. Character creation will only be available until June’s game update, tentatively scheduled for June 15, so create this highly nimble acrobatic class today!

Scorching Desert Dragon Nest



The ebb and flow of the Monolith has caused much frustration in the world of Altera. Those who have suffered have travelled to the outskirts of a barren desert, where their voices have gathered enough power to reopen the Desert Dragon Nest in its new form—the Scorching Desert Dragon Nest!

This nest is now ready for the Level 90 cap, and has been scaled to handle 4 players. The bosses have been reduced from 7 to 5, and the remaining bosses have been updated with new skills and tactics! The rewards have been updated as well:

- Abyss Rewards: Lv. 90 unique-grade Armor and Weapons, unique-grade Crests, Hammer of Evolution Shard - Coma, Brilliant Talisman Essence, Quality Life-giving Essence, Spaera

Dragon Vault Update


Gerrant’s influence over the Dragon Eggs continues, with the last egg of the set, the Noble Gold Dragon Egg! Get your wing, tail, and decal and transform into Gerrant himself!

Join the flight crew of an airship with the new rare-grade costumes available in the Dragon Vault! The Silver Hunter has a special costume available as well. Machina gets some new hair and face styles, and your Little Winnie ally is ready for school! New items are also available in the Dragon Egg.

Guild Update

Enjoy new guild contents with your friends as we introduce the Sealed Guild Stone Tablet! Guild members can use Guild Points to activate this new feature.



Once activated, guild members ranked officer level and above can give Guild Points to the Sealed Guild Stone Tablet to fill up its meter. Once a day, general guild members can also add points by using “Hasten” which gives extra points to the meter. “Hasten” resets at 9:00 AM Pacific each day. Once the meter reaches 100%, all members of the guild will receive rewards based on their rank!

Log in to Dragon Nest during the Armor Attendance Event, and receive daily rewards. You can also earn yourself some nice gear! This event can be repeated on each character, so that all of your characters get geared up!

GM GlassRobot Heart Event
Thursday, April 14 – Thursday, May 12

Log in to Dragon Nest to receive GM Hearts! Each day during the event period, stay logged in for 5 minutes to receive a GM Heart. Continue to stay logged in for 10 minutes to receive another GM Heart. At the 15-minute and 20-minute marks, you will receive another GM Heart for a total of four GM Hearts per day. The hearts will be automatically added to your inventory in the NX -> Costume tab. You can repeat this event on each character.

Hang onto those hearts and take them to NPC Cassie, located at the fountain in Saint’s Haven. She will happily take them off your hands in exchange for some special costumes!

- 16 GM Hearts - Moonlight Ring
- 20 GM Hearts - Moonlight Wings

- Luring Strike: Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 217% to 920% (PVE).
- Eclipse: Reduces cooldown of skill by 1 second on every point increase after obtaining skill (PVE).
- Frenzied Charge: Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 2,139% to 3,159% (PVE). Inverse Paralyze has been removed (PVE/PVP).

Gladiator
- Feint: If Feint successfully lands, the skill removes the active cooldown on Forward Thrust and Triple Sash (PVE).
- Class Mastery: Hype Train has maximum count of 20 (PVE/PVP). Has increased duration of 60 seconds (PVE/PVP). Strength increase for each point is now 4% (PVE). The main skill cooldowns have been changed per point – PVE: 0.3 seconds; PVP: 2 seconds (PVE/PVP). The affected skills are Triple Sash, Forward Thrust, Hacking Stance, Frenzied Charge, and Feint. Cooldown has been changed to 1 second (PVP). Cooldown Recovery Amount has been changed to 20% (PVP).
- Frenzied Charge EX: Damage per each blade has been changed to 10% (PVE/PVP). Dash distance is reduced if used while moving backwards and can activate [Dash Kick] by inputting the [Special Attack Button] (PVE/ PVP).
- Coup de Grace: Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 1,788% to 3,476% (PVE). Additional damage amount has been increased. Max Level Damage – 8% to 16% (PVE).

Archer Class Skill Changes

Acrobat
- Marionette: Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 780% to 1,425% (PVE).
- Blooming Kick: Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 950% to 2,396% (PVE).
- Spiral Kick: Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 581% to 1,182% (PVE).
- Kick Shot: Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 948% to 1,881% (PVE).

Ice Witch
- Frost Chaos: Cooldown has been changed to 25 seconds (PVP).
- Ice Barrier: Freeze effect has been removed when the barrier is lost (PVE/PVP). Duration has been changed to 60 seconds and the cooldown has been changed to 120 seconds (PVE/PVP).
- Class Mastery: Ice Barrier cooldown is reduced by 1 second for every Ice elemental attack that successfully hits. (PVE/PVP).
- Ice Barrier EX: Barrier removal can no longer be manually triggered (PVE/PVP). Cooldown recovery speed increase by 30% for the following skills; Icy Shards, Ice Cold Field, Frozen Spikes, Chilling Mist, Blizzard, Frost Chaos (PVE/PVP). Ice Magic Attack increase will be maintained while Ice Barrier is active. (PVE/PVP). Ice Magic increases by 30% (PVE/PVP).

Pyromancer
- Burning Hand: Additional damage done to target with burns has been decreased by 50% (PVE).

- Grand Cross: Adjusted skill damage per hit and fixed correlating bug/issue. (PVE/PVP)

Paladin
- Divine Hammer: Invincibility has been added while skill is being used (PVE).

Crusader
- Judgmental Hammer: Additional damage increase based on distance will be removed (PVE/PVP). Damage has been increased. Max Level Damage – 202%/229% to 2,377%/2,979% (PVE).

UI Changes

- Login screen has been updated to the Silver Hunter.
- “Daily Achievements” have been removed from the Achievements window and have been placed in a new window called “Mission List”. It can be found by clicking on the Parchment Icon in the lower right or by opening the Event window. Achievement points have been adjusted because of this change.
- “Exit Game” now has an Irine UI that will confirm the player’s exit from the game. If an Attendance Event is active, your next Attendance reward is displayed.
- The Mercenary Collection window has been updated. All mercenaries yet to be obtained now have inactive icons present. Mercenaries can also be unequipped from the window.
- “Increase Max View” distance option has been added to the System Settings menu.
- A side-by-side comparison window has been added for equipment hover displays.

Dungeon and Nest Changes

- The Rank Rewards screen has been revamped, and no longer gives a grade. Max Combo, Kill Count, Party Number, Rank have been removed and no longer affect end rank. The grade has been replaced with the three stars. The color of the star determines your rank in the dungeon. The only stat that counts toward the end rank is number of deaths in the dungeon/nest. Quests that require “C Rank or Higher” have been changed to just “Clear”. Remote Quests that require “S Rank or Higher” have been changed to just “Clear”. An 8-player reward screen has been added to 8-player nests.
- The UI for the end of a dungeon has been updated with new icons. The functionality has not changed.
- Daidalos Nest (Hardcore) may reward players with Quality Life-giving Essence. The Revive Count has been increased to 5.
- Twisted Territory daily quests have been removed.
- Epic Element Attribute titles have been added to the Aorta Gate and Azure Road Abyss difficulty dungeons.

NPC Changes

- NPC Blacksmiths can now officially enhance Lv. 90 Dragon Gems to +14. The message for a successful Dragon Gem Enhancement has been removed.
- NPC Blacksmiths can now craft the following items: Lv. 90 Evolution Weapons, Hammers of Evolution, Legendary Ring, Quality Life-Giving Essence, and Lv. 90 Rare Grade Talismans.
- Goddess’s Lament Shops have been updated with the following items: Goddess’s Despair (Pouch), Goddess Title: Vessel of the Goddess, Goddess Title: The Dejected, and Light Cube.
- Goddess Aura Shop has been updated with the following items: Quality Life-giving Essence, Hammer of Evolution Shard – Coma, and Light Cube. Prophet Gears have replaced the Felis Gears.
- Nightmare Star Shop has been updated with the following items: Drakonite, Quality Drakonite, and Superb Drakonite.

Twisted Territory


Head to the Heart of Merka in the Mistlands where you can depart to the brand-new Twisted Territory! Just as the name suggests, this place is full of twists and turns. There are six new dungeons. Enter the Twisted Fountain or Decaying Grounds dungeons, and from either of those you can then continue on to a random Lost Dominion dungeon! Take friends, or go solo. Either way you will have a wickedly warped grand old time!

In addition, you can continue the main storyline with new Apocrypha 5 quests available for Lv. 90 players. Step foot into the Twisted Territory and uncover a potential new threat to your friends and their beloved Merka!

Dragon Vault Update


Gerrant’s influence over the Dragon Eggs continues, with the new Ardent Gold Dragon Egg! Gather your weapons on your way to a complete Gerrant transformation.

Daily Login Event


Log in to Dragon Nest every day during the event period to receive the Crystal Wing, Tail, and Decal Set! If you get all three, you can also earn a Starry Ram Mount.

Loffy's Dicey Dungeon


Last month there was an issue that caused this event to end early. As a result, we are re-running the event this month! Starting on Saturday, March 19, you can venture forth with Loffy as you help him find his secret treasure room!

New Hero: Silver Hunter



Welcome the next Hero class to arrive in Altera, the Silver Hunter! A variant of the Archer class, the Silver Hunter sets traps to subdue her enemies, and is aided by a summoned Falcon which has its own attack skills. Character creation will only be available for a limited time, and when you create a Hunter class character, you’ll receive a special level-up box full of useful items and gear! The Hunter becomes a Silver Hunter at Level 50, and is able to perform highly nimble aerial acrobatics.

For some clarification: I have played this game since Open Beta around September 2011, long before it was released on Steam so I'd average around maybe 5,000 hours give or take a thousand.

This game used to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. The combat is phenomenol, still kind of is. The story is gripping although a little trope-y. Most if not all of the classes are unique in their own way, each having their own playstyle. Now why would I not recommend this game despite all the good things, it's only because the cons heavily outweigh the pros.

Let's start with content. Content is one of the biggest concerns I have had with this game for a while. The level caps have increased from 16, 24, 32, 40, 50 etc., with each cap including a couple of small 'nests' which are more or less instances with 4-5 bosses with some mechanics built in, a raid which is essentially like the nests only with 8 people instead of 4 and then the hell raid which adds a couple mechanics and makes everything stronger. Each cap lasts about 5-8 months with the exception of 40 cap which lasted nearly a year and some odd months. These months are filled with grinding the same dungeons and 'nests' week to week to try to get the best gear.

Now we'll talk about gear. Gear follows a familiar rarity system, Normal, Magic, Rare, Epic, Unique, and Legendary. Normal to Rare is highly disregarded when playing Dragon Nest, if you're seen wearing them you'll be kicked from a party without hesitation, but we'll get into community in a bit. Epic gear is obtained from doing the nests over and over again for materials to craft. There's usually 2 different Epic sets for each cap, one being for magic-based classes, the other being for physical based classes. Unique gear is obtained from completing the normal raid and getting it dropped randomly. Legendary gear is recieved from drops in the hell version of a raid. Essentially to get the best gear in the game you essentially have to just have immense luck, and not to mention a team which can actually clear a raid consistently.

Gear does not change any part of attire except for your weapons, so if you're looking to be a fashionista without forking over some cash you're out of luck. When it comes to making your character not look like the average joe, you'll usually have to pay 15-30 dollars on a costume. A lot of the time you won't be able to mix-and-match costumes to get the "ultimate" look just based on the fact that you'll lose a set bonus. These set bonuses get better the more you pay up, and if you ever do feel the need to mix-and-match you'll have to get lucky buying gachapon and getting the single item that allows you to do so, did I mention you need one for each piece of equipment you wish to alter? That's not all, if you're looking to get the highest rarity costumes you'll need to fork over even more cash to get sets and fuse those set pieces together for a CHANCE at a higher rarity costume piece. Good luck!

Class balancing is another of the bigger concerns with the game. Every so often there's a balancing patch, when this patch comes around there will ALWAYS be that one class that excells over all the others. This a lot of the time leads to people completely shunning other classes based on their tier list. And when it comes to nerfing a class, the nerf will just be making another class significantly more powerful than the other. If you're thinking about exclusively playing one class and still being able to join up with others then I'm sorry to say that's not the case.

Let's get to talking about the community. It's a fairly small game so the community is kind of scrunched up. A lot of the people are generally really nice, but when it comes to actually playing the game, personalities may be a bit skewed. A fair bit of players, especially the people who have been around for a long while, which make up a fair portion of the game, are elitist in one way or another. There is a list of requirements for joining parties ranging from having proper gear, the highest enchantments, the best gems, etc. It doesn't matter if you're trying to learn how to do the latest nest or something to that extent, you will be kicked on the spot if the party leader is not appeased by your gear. This game is without a doubt not friendly to new players, I hate to say.

PVP is one of the few things this game has left to offer, and even in that case PVP has had an incessive lag since the game was released till now.

I could keep going on and on about all the problems with the game, but I feel I've covered the bare essentials. A couple years ago I would've recommended this game, but unfortunately it just fell into the usual Korean MMO loop of unfortunate cases.

I played the game and haven't found a reason to stop playing it.

You can:

Hit poeple.
Hit monsters.
Hit (and slay) dragons
Hit little girls....?????
Break Crates.
Pick from slightly offensive classes.
Enjoy your life being sucked from you.
Dance like a socially inept person.
Real the story.
Skip through all the story.
Use cool attacks.
Beg random people to join your guild.

Run from this game. The developers talked about the new level 90 update for weeks. Saying if going to have a ton of new content. Patch day hits and the devs gave us a few level 90 dungeons and TOOK OUT EVERY DUNGEON BELOW 90! On top of that, they took away higher diffculties that allowed players to get higher exp rewards. They took away more content than they put in. These developers are terrible. I wont even hit on their Pay to Win ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t cosmetics and allys. Bad game is bad.

Solid Game-Play
PVP epic and fun
Too easy for experienced Gamer
My character lvl is 80 out of 90 for 32 hours of game
Grinding is ok compare to other mmo.
Go for it !! Very good game ^^
