About This Game

Based on the award-winning mobile game of the same name, Obulis takes things to the next level by fusing highly compelling gameplay with outstanding graphics, music and state of the art physics effects.

The goal of Obulis is to drop all of the colored spheres into their like-colored pots. Spheres are connected to the playfield using chains and ropes and the player must cut these constraints to put the spheres and the level in motion by the forces of gravity and physical interaction. The controls are extremely simple and intuitive. Obulis can literally be learned in seconds, but the puzzles will keep you thinking for hours.

A few days ago, I crafted a Steam badge. In the resulting level-up, I was rewarded with a 90% off coupon for a game called Obulis. Checking the store page, I figured the game looked interesting enough, and because the coupon cut the total price down to a meager €0.50, I saw no pain in buying it, especially with all the other games I bought and have yet to even touch. It's a purchase I do not regret.

If you like puzzles, there's no reason why you shouldn't pass this game up. Even at its full price, it's fairly reasonable. Perhaps my only big gripes with this game are the occasionally obstructive foregrounds (such as in the Windmill area in Chapter 1) and the over-reliance on perfect timing rather than logic. Far too many times did I have to reset the level because I cut the chain/rope/pole a split-second too early or too late, making the marble in question completely miss its mark. This is especially bad in levels that require a lot of steps to complete. It's frustrating in that you can't solve the level despite knowing the solution.

But aside from that, everything else about the game is highly addicting and I strongly recommend that you try it if you're a fan of puzzle games. Just keep one thing in mind if you're a completionist: If you can't solve a level, DO NOT LET THE GAME SHOW YOU THE SOLUTION. Otherwise you'll forever forfeit the stars you would have obtained from clearing it. I learned this the hard way.

2D puzzle game with decent music, mechanics and graphics.

I's all about getting the orbs of different colors into a basket of matching color by activating small mechanics in the surrounding, so no direct contact is allowed and it's all placed with just the mouse.
The difficulty increase level by level, and will required better timing and cognitive thinking, but mainly just timing. This makes it very addictive though, since it trigger a nice sense of achievement when you finally succeed some of the trickier levels.

For me it felt like it was all mainly about relaxing and work on my patience, since some levels demanded a few tries to get the timing right.

I would say that this is a nice game if you are looking for a relaxing way to practise your patience, including a calm brain teaser. It's pretty good for when you need a short break from doing something else.

This was an excellent game! I also found it to be very relaxing. Puzzles had some challenge but never frustrated me.I even left the music on which is something I rarely do, as it added to such a peaceful atmosphere.
