Announcing The Maze Engine: Guild Alliances!

In our continued effort to improve the quality of life for Neverwinter, we’re releasing a new update on June 7. The Maze Engine: Guild Alliances will contain several improvements to existing systems or content, which we’ll reveal as we approach the update’s release.

As the name states one of the major system changes will be guilds and strongholds. Previously, smaller guilds had a rough time donating to their coffer and keeping up with larger guilds who would unlock boons and gear at an accelerated pace due to their membership. We’re introducing alliances as a way for more adventurers to play together, organize events and to strengthen their stronghold. More information on alliances will be released in the near future!

A second major change coming will be Sword Coast Chronicles: a campaign of campaigns, if you will. This storybook-like interface will seamlessly mesh all campaigns together so adventurers won’t be intimidated when they hit level 70. Sword Coast Chronicles will guide new adventurers through the recommended order of post-70 content and will contain unique rewards.

Much like The Maze Engine, there’s much more around every corner and will be revealed soon!

Portobello's Campaign Has Arrived!

The Day of the Dungeon Master has arrived!

Though it’s actually more like a month...

I’m so excited to announce that both Respen’s Marvelous Game and Portobello’s Campaign are now available for you to play! For the next few weeks you’ll be able to visit the Burrow Dawn Inn (as seen at the 2015 PAX Prime live show), be evaluated by Flabbergast and Mr. Snibbly, get mocked by some cheeky gargoyles and more as you journey through the magical mind of dungeon master extraordinaire, Chris Perkins.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mkf2W3jNXSM

Be sure to check out both Respen’s and Portobello’s campaigns as each has tasks to offer during the month-long event.

In between evaluations at the Burrow Dawn Inn, don’t forget to check the event queues for new ways to be tested. A new queue will open up each week, so be sure to check back regularly.

Thanks for reading and I can’t wait to see you in game!

The game has a great concept, I however found it hard to play as many times as it crashed, froze, I have a decent gaming computer, This was unacceptable. It was completely unplayable for friends...But from what I could actually play it was fun! :(

I wish it was better.

It's a great game, if you love D&D. It IS pay-to-win though, so if you can't deal with that, then don't bother. Don't let anyone else tell you differently, it's 100% pay to win. There is no monthly subscription fee, so that's what you should expect from the game developer. There are a ton of really cool people in the game, it's fun as hell and the updates are always rolling.

I have not dived as deep as I would have liked to, but so far everything checks out to be pretty darn fun.

PROS:

- Fun gameplay / combat
- Lots of content
- Decent artsyle

CONS:

- Lots of pay to convenience (not pay to win, mind you) in the PvP department
- Not as optimized as it could/should be

Score: 8/10 - would recommend to anyone looking for a fun action based MMO.

This is a fun game from lvls 1-60. Once you reach 60, it takes forever to lvl up and you are motivated by epic dungeons, which become available at lv 70. At lvl 70 the game goes from being free to play to free to lose. If you do not spend real money it is almost impossible to get decent gear or be able to afford to upgrade gear. You have a limit of about 36k rough AD you can refine per day, so that is your limit on income you can earn without paying. You can earn AD through other means, such as exploiting the constantly buggy auction house, or selling the items you get from dungeons, this still pays very low and consumes tons of time. If you do decide to play the game and put up with all the bugs, it is helpful to get VIP, which at the moment costs about 495k AD using the AD exchange. This will take a lot of time if you do not use real money, but it gives you and enchantment key and after having it for two months, I pretty much make the money I paid for it back, but haven't made more. Do not buy enchantment keys, they are a rip off and you will lose a lot of AD most of the time. It is a lot about luck, it is possible to buy 20 keys and get a legendary item, but most likely you will open 20 boxes and all average items and a few epics that still do not make up for the price of the keys. I have opened over a 100 boxes and have never gotten a legendary item. I have heard of people who have played for 8 months with VIP and got one, so it can happen. Just be aware it is very unlikely. I would recommend not spending any money on this game because the exchange rate is horrible and it is not a good game to invest in. It gets old and boring very fast once you understand how long it will take you to earn enough for good items. Rate: 6/10

If you wanna be successful in Neverwinter,be accepted in Epic Dongeons and have a minimal chance to kill anyone in pvp, you'll need to spend arround 250$ and even with 250$ you won't get very far...This game is a cash grabbing machine.Yes,the combat mechanics are awesome and that's why i kept playing for some weeks after i realized this game would grab all my money. If you're a f2p player, don't bother playing this game, you'll be dissapointed.but if you're willing to spend hundreds of dollars on this game, fine,go ahead, you'll have a good time playing it.

I downloaded and install and got everything up and running, but when i click play, it crashes.......doesnt do that to my friends?????

UPDATE: I changed it to recommended cause I was finally able to get it to work. It helps to have the lastest Java update and if that doesnt work try going to options and putting it on Safe Mode. some people are able to put it back to normal mode later.

But yeah, once I got it to work, it soon became one of my favorite games!!! Install it now and try it for yourself. Havent found any cons to it so far, although there are things that you need money to get, but other than that none! And those items arent even essential to the game, so you play it without them if you want.

I had been playing for some while and the micro purchases were just too tempting. Today I decided to purchase a bit of 'zen' so I could turn it into another in-game currency to buy a companion.

They were very happy to take my money, but because the transaction was made via my Steam Wallet - they have limited my use of the funds and suspended my ability to exchange currencies for an indeterminate amount of time. No phone support, you can only submit a ticket which also, MAY be replied to within an indeterminate amount of time.

Exceptionally efficient in their ability to shut down a potential customer in the long run.

Played a LOT of this game before i was banned and had to start new. Max lvl toons best gear all looking the way i wanted, spent money in the shop...then began to realize what a skinner box it was, mentioned in chat that it was a gambling site with combat. WHAM! BANNED! Not just for this game but banned my star trek online acount i had linked to the same address (had that game since launch not so much as a report on me.) No joke No B.S. They have spent a lot of time and money designing this game around addiction and the only thing they care about is the $$$$$ Stay away and be afraid be very AFRAID!

Even though my time say 1.2 hours, I have played this game on XBOX ONE for hundreds of hours. Before Mod 5 this game was amazing for a free to play. The dungeons (That were taken out) Were creative and numerous enough where you didn't get bored. After the installation of future mods, the point of the developers became quite clear. They made a half broken game to keep you from leaving, all so you would spend money to get accepted into epic dungeons, and PVP.

I don't really have much else to say, as more recent reviews have pinned this game down as entirely accurate. For new players, they will love it, but as you will discover, once you maxed your character as far as levels go, you will be booted, for not being an elite pay to win player, or your game will crash constantly from Cryptics absolutely terrible servers, and even more horrendous patches, which just add items for you to buy, and don't fix a damn thing.

All in all, do not play this game. It is but a mere shadow of what it was when it first came out, and jumped head first off the cliff of greed, and terrible optimization. Don't believe me? Read the other reviews, they are completely accurate.

P.S. Don't bother commenting on Cryptics forums, they will delete your well versed complaints, regardless of whether or not they are staight-forwards and critical. Not to mention, if you were like me, and spend $10 dollars for a mount, only to have the discount not go through, again, do not bother emailing them. They will blame you, even if you provide a screenshot as evidence that they ♥♥♥♥ed up.

Run away now.

This was a fun game and at the start all the way to level 20ish its fun. But eventuly it becomes the same thing over and over again. When the game was new being high level was rewarding and fun. You could do fun dungens and pvp with friends and other people. However with the recent updates thi game became 100% sh*t and just a scam to try to get mony from you. Plus most all the players have stoped playing. Would i recomend this game now... hell no. But keep a eye out just incace those lazy devs get off there asses and do something.

I'd love to be able to write a review of this game, but every single time I install and attempt to run it the damn thing crashes my system during the patch updates - although amusingly the game time counter says I've played over 3 hours of it?!?

Three hours of swearing, sweating and staring at the update screen while wondering whats going to cause a crash this time more like :(

Suffice it to say that I've given up any hopes of ever being able to run this, so I'm removing any trace of it from my system.

Shame really

You can check out my full review of Neverwinter Online here

I'd like to say that I don't think Neverwinter Online is inherently pay to win. Sure there are pay to win elements in the game that could easily be stamped out but that's not the most offensive part of this game.

Let me tell you a story. Imagine a game called Neverwinter Online. In this fantasy world there was a beta server that a company called Cryptic set up specifically to test for bugs in upcoming patches and updates.

A new class called the Hunter Ranger is scheduled to appear in the next update, but something is off about it. Every so often the stars will align and particle effects from a specific ability of the Hunter Ranger will not go away, lagging and crashing instances as particles are spewed out. Very frustrating, but Cryptic knows just what to do! It releases the Hunter Ranger and doesn't warn anyone about the known bugs and glitches with the class! For almost 3 weeks straight, instances are lagging and crashing as the players discover this bug for themselves. Finally, Cryptic decides to go ahead and patch the problem. It was then that the players found out the actual timeline of this bug. It was initially found six months earlier.

This, is a true story.

Warning Do Not Play This GAME! PLEASE READ THIS IF U WANT TO KNOW!

this game is the worst no endgame real S.u.c.k.y story line, bad devs that never fix known bugs, pvp is for players that PAY! lvl 60 -70 is no story only grinding, if u have problems support WILL NOT HELP YOU!! what so ever! I will never klick the play butten again, its just a real bad game i playd for many hours, here is a quick round on what u do:

start a char, get lvl 60 with bad quest, grind to 70, do the same thing every day for weeks to get bad gear everyone use, Grind for some more weeks to get nothing really, or the same weapon everyone use, and its noting to do after you hit lvl 70 no endgame and forget the pvp if you are not planning to use real money and then you are back to grinding for weeks to get nothing, you just waist lots of time.

neverwinter is the worst and devs S.U.C.K paladin has bin undeadly for over 1 year if you pay for gear! WORST GAME IN HISTORY! devs cares about MONEY not the game!

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME
DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME
