Product Update V1.5.1

Latest update addresses the issues with profile saves that was introduced in a previous update. The original engine the game was developed in is currently obsolete so we had to update the entire game to a newer version of the engine which required quite a bit of re-coding for various parts of the game.

This on top of our time mostly being taken up by another one of our projects is the reason for the long delay getting this update out. If you encounter and bugs we may have missed resulting from the engine update please report it to Admin@endlessfluff.com . Again we apologize for the delay getting this update out.

This game is addicting. It gets really tough towards the end though. Probably not very helpful review, but you get what you see from the trailer and that's important for me. :)

This game has been updated and now I can recommend this game as the best puzzle game on steam !!

I don't know if you can restore your previous back up,
However, if you play from scratch the saves work.

This game is great, lovely, easy to play and addicted.

I am really happy to play the fire path again.

Note that you need to go to Profile menu to choose your profile (saves) and then return to the menu and choose play to launch the game with your saves.

This game looks cute and beautiful, and seems to be a nice match-3 game mingled with RPG element.
However, if you are looking for a game like the Puzzle Quest series, you won't find anything that can even see the dust at the tail of PQ; you should get 10,000,000/you must build a boat instead, which are much better than the Legened of Fae.
For the first several levels, the game may be interesting, but after that, the combat becomes quickly repetitive and the story progresses very slowly. The seemingly level-up system does not work well, as it does not give you the feeling of becoming stronger and more versatile in battles (the effects of the combo spells and summons are not worth the efforts for casting them). In addition, most monsters in later stages have special abilities, which makes the circumstances in combat chaotic.
The music is just so so; the sound effect is alright at first, but after a handful of battles this rapidly become old and annoying due to the lackness of variation.

Plays like a much smarter puzzle quest/puzzle league combined with a combat system relying on classic rock-paper-cisor color vulnerability system.

Overall very pleasant. Artistic value is pretty high, interface easy and functional. Not as polished as Valdis, but any further comparison would be unfair I think.

If you like the classic lining up of color orbs by horizontal swap games, this is one of the strongest I've seen.

The last time I played a match 3 game, all I could think about was "I sure wish I could only swap tiles horizontally while trying to hit elemental weaknesses".

Legend of Fae not only has mediocre graphics and reuses the same sounds as Valdis Story but tedious and tiresome.

I had been looking forward to playing this game since I first made this steam account. The artstyle is appealing, you might even call it cute, and a match 3 game with combat sounds like it might be a fun time.

As it turns out, Legend of Fae is pretty good!
It is a match 3 game with combat, as I mentioned earlier, where you match gems(orbs?) of an element (Fire, Water, Wind and Earth) to defeat enemies. The enemies can also have elemental affinities so you can't just cast whatever at an enemy and get by. There's also an upgrade system where you can choose from better elemental attacks, combo spells and summons. You can also respec your skill tree if you want to try something different. There's a surprising amount of depth and different ways to play, which is nice.

I played the game on Hard and it's worth noting that near the end of the game it gets HARD. If you aren't in total control of what's going on in the combat in the later levels you will drop so quickly that it's kind of frustrating. I also ran into a couple of points where I had to respec several times because it felt like the skills I had just weren't enough. It is a puzzle game (kind of) so you can "figure it out" in a sense.

The story is also pretty interesting, it definitely goes some places over the course of the game that I didn't really expect it to. If there were somehow a sequel that was a continuation of the events of this game (as unlikely as that may be) I'd be on it from day one.

So yeah, if you want a little lite-RPG in your gem matching escapades then you should probably pick this up. Maybe stick to casual mode if you don't want to have too hard of a time in the combat.

"Endless Fluff" may be an apt description of this game, but not in a bad way. The story is cute, the characters are cute -- even the monsters are cute! But cuteness does not detract from the plot and gameplay. This game actually has an engaging storyline, which one may not expect from what appears to be a basic "match three" puzzle game. While the puzzle aspects of the game can occasionally become tedious, the story and RPG elements keep you coming back after you die. And I actually do like the RPG elements and the ability to upgrade your various elements in order to perform special attacks when you do "match" the correct jems together. In all, I do highly recommend this game.

The combination of RPG mechanics and puzzle game is an oddly rare thing, even though RPGs have classically designed their combat systems in the vein of puzzles. Only a game like 10,000,000 really tries to do the same thing.

Still, compared to a game like 10,000,000, it's a little more forgiving, colorful, and generally fun.

The game plays on a split screen. You need to fill up your little power jars by matching blocks in a match-three game similar to Bejewelled. (However, you can make swaps that are not matches. You just get a power bonus if you keep chains of consecutive matches going.) When you need to launch an attack, you tap the top half of the screen, and can start tapping your elemental buddies to have them throw down attacks and heals and shields. Otherwise, you keep your head down in the gems you need to match as rapidly as possible. At least for me, I'm often so focused on making a big chain I totally forget to look up and realize the heroine has stopped walking, and there's a monster about to eat her face...

It sometimes gets a little hectic, especially against the optional bosses, where you're setting up some big chain you think will help you and in the last two seconds, you took half a dozen attacks that just quartered your health bar, but if things go that fast, you're probably fighting something out of your league, anyway...

The RPG mechanics are quite interesting, as well. Special piece rewards for good times in a mission (go back to a difficult one with more powerups if you need more power to score a perfect run) are spent instead of gaining XP. You get offered a path of specializing in elements or going for a broad generalist path with a few special bonuses.

All-in-all, it's a fun game for someone who enjoys the occasional puzzle game, RPGs, and has the ability to multitask a bit, and I'd recommend it to anyone who lies upon the intersecction of those three pools.

First impression: If you liked Puzzle Quest, but thought it was too slow, Legend of Fae is for you.

EDIT:

Second impression: First impression still holds. However, unlike Puzzle Quest, Legend of Fae is...well, easy. I seem to be done with the tutorial parts and have entered the actual meat of the game. You're given an option between two difficulties, easy and hard. I picked hard. Thus far, everything has been an absolute pushover. Each level has an "expert" bonus target for completing it in a certain time and with a certain score, and I've been able to amply reach both goals on every level, often doubling the score and halving the time.

Not to say it hasn't been fun. It has. I'm just also waiting for my HP bar to dip below 90%, so that I actually need to heal myself.

EDIT:

Third impression: First impression still holds.

The game's difficulty has started noticably ramping up. It's still nowhere near "too hard", though I have begun to miss score and/or time goals by smallish margins. Perhaps I spoke too soon on the too easy part.

There's also a bonus boss I unlocked a while back. I've tried it a few times, but it utterly destroys me every time.

this is a super cute game and concept, i quite like this. similar to bejeweled, but not the same, with a cute little story and elements to factor in!

Definitely more catered towards people who like playing Bejeweled, or doing the same thing over and over throughout a game, I liked this game a lot. Fight enemies, with your little sprite friends, fire, water, earth, air, and use their strengths/weaknesses to your advantage. The art in this game is beautiful, and the story as well.

Fairly good game. Terrible dialogue. I first played this about two years ago and it annoyed me a lot. It is basically bejeweled, but with a story mushed in. The battles are fun at first, but eventually get boring and tedious. I find myself wondering why I put myself through the battles when I know there is another right behind it.

A match-3 game with RPG elements. Matching up the colors has the corresponding element use an attack, heal, etc. Sounds simple enough and it is, but the game has a good difficulty curve and a few interesting gameplay mechanics.

On the downside, the wind elemental seems a bit too important since he's the only character than can knock flying enemies to the ground, and it's necessary to do so to damage them. Felt like at least one of the other characters should have been able to do something similar. Makes the tactical aspect of fighting a bit repetitive since there are a lot of flying enemies in the game. If you ever find yourself wanting to do so, the game does let you respec your level-ups easily enough. The last boss is also stupid hard and I was one or two attempts from searching for a youtube clip of the ending. It's just an incredibly frustrating, long fight.

I don't play match-3 anything, so take this review of a match-3 game with a grain of salt. Picked it up on a whim and because the main character wears a leg brace and that seemed interesting enough. A solid, little puzzler, though the story/character aspects are extremely generic and disposable.

For the most part, I like this game. I thought it was original in its design. It has rpg, puzzle, and strategy game elements at the very least. The story and battle mechanics are very interesting. At first, you think the game is going to be easy, but it can also surprise you at how challenging it can get. It definitely makes you think on your feet and try to plan ahead.

Probably, the one thing that I did not like about the game is that whenever an enemy casts a spell, it interrupts what you are doing to tell you about it. I understand it is to help draw your awareness, but usually I am concentrating on what I need to do next and it is very jarring to be suddenly pulled away from what I'm doing. Enemys cast a variety of spells, such as barriers and holds on your abilities. I do not need to be pulled away every, single time. However, in light of the whole, this is just a small annoyence. Overall, the game is very fun and interesting.

Recommended to wait and see if any bug fixes are coming before purchasing.

A nice idea for a game that is hampered by bugs and a couple typos two years after release. The biggest example I can see is that only the first save file works, so unless you find this out beforehand, you'll lose all progress when you close the game. The last update was about a month ago which is nice fo a game released in 2011, but the lack of developer communication on the steam forums could be a bad sign for bug-fixing.

Otherwise, when the game works as intended, it's a pretty fun Puzzle Quest-styled game where you can just play in short sessions. Like with Puzzle Quest, the gem-switching combat is the main draw rather than the story.

saw this pop up while searching and watched the little trailer..very interesting. so, i went online and got the demo. got to level 5 and made myself stop..happy to now have bought full game. story is good and easy to follow, graphics are cute and its a good take on matching games that always get spat out of everywhere now. sick of these re-hahses of bejeweled and angry birds and mario but its used here with a storyline and adventure, making a enjoyable, unique game. can just relax and play, with enemies to fight and progress made. also has some challenge and strategy to ensure success and move on, even has upgrade system. nice mix, good casual game, needs more recognition. if youre unsure, just go get the demo. youll enjoy it :)

This is a really addictive match 3 game with a lot of depth, challenge and interesting story that kept me tied up in a classic 'just one more stage' cycle. When you think you've got a good handle on the gameplay and it starts to get easy, they throw in a new gameplay element or enemy type that really changes the dynamic and steps up the difficulty nicely. If you're a fan of the genre, be warned it can get really tough and hectic later on.

Beyond the nice story and gorgeous art, the world itself also has a lot of thought put into and you'll find yourself wanting to learn more about it and its denizens. My only problem with the game is how tough it can be to unlock the bonus lore since it requires you to keep an eye on the action above while you hunt for matches below. I'd rather have had upgrades work like that with book pages unlocked through performance, but six of one, half dozen of the other, I suppose.

Simple in its concept but quite addictive. This can remind of bejeweled or any games using the same gameplay, but with more options. You also have to fight monsters using the attacks you gain by putting elements together (a line or goup of 3 or more tiles). Perfect for when you have just a short period of time to play (Most of the chapters are between 8 and 12 minutes). Cute graphics and story. Easy to understand and play. I have played about 20 chapters so far and intend to finish the game.

You get to travel with 4 elemental spirits that will help you fight along the way. For each chapter you complete, you gain a puzzle piece which you can use to buy upgrades for the spirits/elementals that fights with you. This gives you options to help you win the further chapters and fight more ennemies. You're also free to upgrade the spirits you want (there is no obligation so you can upgrade only one of them if you want).

There are some records to beat and level of difficulty as well, which is interesting.

Beautiful game made in Game Maker that mixes RPG real time combat with a Bejeweled-like system. It's odd as hell but, luckily it works! Who would've known. The sprite artwork is great too, enemies and character all look very neat in their pixelated pixel art pixel awesome. If anything, it truly deserves the "hidden gem" tag. However, being a Game Maker game, it might run upon troubles running sound properly on 64-bit system, please be advised. Although you can always play the music from the game folders, nothing bad. Really, it has plenty of levels, the elemental system is neat and the magical lantern actually holds some surprise thanks to an upgrade and spell system. All in all, quite recommended!

The good news is that the light RPG elements are actually pretty entertaining and kept me playing for a few hours. There isn't a ton of depth to them, but they're thought out well enough to give some focus and direction to what you're doing on the puzzle side of the game and break it up a bit. The story is nothing to write home about, but it moves the game along.

I might've kept playing it on and off despite some annoyances (e.g. fighting multiple enemies at once that spam status effects effectively forcing you down an upgrade path that gives you an easy way to clear things like blind/poison), but my inability to see what was going on really started to get in the way after a while. This is one of the few games where my partial color blindness has been a significant problem (especially with the blue/purple gems), and it could've been avoided without even adding a color blind mode. Just making the different gems different shapes would've made an enormous difference. It also really, really doesn't help that things like the poison symbol cover up most of the colored area of the gems, which makes it a lot harder at a glance to tell what you need to match them with to clear them.

Yeehaw, excellent game. It's like Puzzle Quest (yes, again) or Henry Hatsworth. You basically 'control' a girl. You do this by moving and combining orbs. Purple orbs move the girl, red orbs do fire attacks, yellow - wind, green - earth, blue - water. And then you have clear orbs to rid yourself of poison or blindness. There are also spells to protect yourself and there's a meter that builds up while you create combos as well. And... you can collect gears and gems. Gears to upgrade your spells and gems to complete the book you're carrying. It's pretty complex for an 'orb matching' game. If you couldn't already tell; I like it. Worth the money ? Hell yeah.

It took me 14 hours over two(?) days to finish the game on the basic difficulty level. I did that while having a headache on two occasions and one session lasting until 3am.

As you might guess, I liked it a lot. Then again, I bought it at 75% discount or comparable. If you see such an offer and like match-3 games, give it a shot. If it's got a demo, give that a shot right now.

A fun little puzzle game, with nice combat mechanics. I'm not a fan of the overall plot, but the graphics are cute, and the music good. I'd recommend it if you like middly challenging, and hybrid indie games.

Puzzle Quest except you're playing Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon instead of Bejeweled. It also rewards you for playing with high combos/faster times. A damn fun game! Try the demo, get hooked, pay a meager $10 (or less!) for a great title.

Legend of Fae is a wonderful puzzle-adventure game. It plays exactly like Tetris Attack on the SNES, only that it has battles that occur as well as the puzzle board. If you are quick at puzzle games, this can be really enjoyable. There are also time trials that you can attempt to beat, and a pretty big skill tree.

Really, really fun if you like Match-3 games with storylines. Storyline isn't that great, but I love the gameplay to bits.

saw this pop up while searching and watched the little trailer..very interesting. so, i went online and got the demo. got to level 5 and made myself stop..happy to now have bought full game. story is good and easy to follow, graphics are cute and its a good take on matching games that always get spat out of everywhere now. sick of these re-hahses of bejeweled and angry birds and mario but its used here with a storyline and adventure, making a enjoyable, unique game. can just relax and play, with enemies to fight and progress made. also has some challenge and strategy to ensure success and move on, even has upgrade system. nice mix, good casual game, needs more recognition. if youre unsure, just go get the demo. youll enjoy it :)
