Acerca deste jogo

This is a 2D puzzle platformer with a Victorian era Steampunk setting. You have discovered how to animate water and an industrial revolution occurred because of it. But now your animated “Fluros” are acting a bit off and you've got to fix them.

While I didn't find the puzzles to be very difficult, I Still enjoyed the game. There is a kind of laid back feel to the game and completing the puzzles still gave a feeling of accomplishment. I've come to expect excellent music from indie games and the soundtrack is pretty good here. Wish a soundtrack came with the Bundle. While the controls are clunky; It only affected a small part of the game. The main character kind of reminded me of a puppet on strings, For some reason.

Nothing too taxing, but a pretty decent game.

I really liked the atmosphere, i.e. the music, sound, and visual style. The puzzles are creative and always seem reasonably challenging. I always felt a sense of accomplishment as I played through the game.

Unfortunately, the game has two very frustrating sections that can definitely ruin the experience, so I'll just warn you about them. The second and third numbered puzzles in the mines seem to require that you make the nozzle that lets you create fluro blobs, but there's no indication from the game that you will ever need a certain upgrade in order to progress. You need that nozzle because it lets you shoot fluros through the grates, but there's no hint from the game that you can do that. It's very frustrating if you get stuck and keep trying to shoot green goo through grates, which you're clearly not supposed to really be able to do. Also, on the section with ladders, it turns out that you can use one of the nozzles (the one that propels you a little bit) to make the jumps easier, but the game doesn't really hint very well that you can use that nozzle to do that.

Secondly, for the final part of the game (the accelerator) you should probably just use a walkthrough to figure out what you're supposed to do. The requirements to complete it are very unclear and don't make a lot of sense.

Other than that, the game was one of the most enjoyable puzzle platformers I've played. I'd say I liked it more than games like Braid, Waking Mars, and Fez.

This is a "♥♥♥♥ING AWSOME GAME", it's very original via steampunk culture "very rare", the soundtrack is AMAZING, the gameplay is to die for, and the puzzles are truely fun an amazing but I gotta warn ya the puzzles in the last level "the mines" are very tricky, so take your time.
All and ALL, it is a "MUST PLAY MUST HAVE" game!

Simply fun. Beautifully designed. To call it one of the best indie titles seems like an injustice. The devs should be very proud of this title!

For the most part, this game features clever puzzle design with interesting fluid mechanics. Story doesn't really add much, but doesn't distract either.

Unfortunately once you reach the final puzzles, the game's mechanics and fluro AI stop following their own rules, and your well thought out solutions fall flat while dumb luck sees you though. That leaves a bit of a sour taste to an otherwise enjoyable game.

If Vessel 2 shows up in the near future and I can get it cheap, I might give it a second chance--but I can't help but feel a little burned by this one.

Excellent puzzle platformer!!!

Really you don't need long reviews. Then again if you do need one, there are many besides mine to read.

I've played countless games (platformers included) since the middle-late 80's, and this is my comment on this game:
"If you don't play this you'll have missed a very unique game of this gerne."

I really didn't find anything wrong with this game. Do yourselves a favor and don't miss this one. If the price is high for you, have it in your wishlist and wait for a sale.

An interesting platformer with some nifty innovations that is brought down by bugs and the annoyance factor inherent in all platformers. Graphics and music are all good. I don't recommend playing this without a controller (it is an absolute nightmare using an mouse and keyboard).

I'd reccommend Vessel to anyone who likes puzzle platformers, however it does have a few flaws.

The biggest flaw is the controls. They're very left-hand-heavy, being essentially those typically used by FPS games. While it does allow you to use the arrow keys for movement it seems like an afterthought, given all the other keys are clustered on the assumption of FPS-style use. While it works fine in a FPS, it doesn't work very well for a platformer, making the platforming a lot harder than it should be. The game itself does not provide a means of remapping the controls either, though it can be done by editing an INI file.

The ending seems a bit lack-lustre to me, though that point is entirely subjective, so there might be some players who find it perfectly adequate.

The visuals are just lovely. It's a pleasure to look at, and it really looks like an evolution of the 2D platformer. For that, and the fluid-based mechanics, the developers should be commended, and you should give them your money if you like this sort of game.
