The new content includes four new, incredibly challenging puzzle levels: 'Container Chaos', 'Shaft Shuffle', 'Brainyard' and 'Assembly Line'. These levels were created as a response to fans that found the original stages a bit too easy. The ‘Hard Times’ content is designed to use all of the existing game mechanics, with an emphasis on puzzle-solving as opposed to combat, and offers a difficult test for even the most experienced players.

Si bien es cierto que aprovecha la jugabilidad para ponernos retos más dificiles que los presentes durante la historia principal, se agradece que el juego original no contase con retos de este nivel, pues sin ser tremendamente difíciles, con ellos el juego original no hubiese gozado del dinamismo que tiene. Estos niveles extra sirvenl como aliciente a los que nos hemos quedado con ganas de más.

A very fun collection of puzzles...that aren't worth 2 dollars. Got it on sale for 50 cents, and that was worth it, but it's not enough content to spend even 2 dollars on.

[ENG] A great addition for the Players that found the standartlevel far to easy. But:
1. are there for the normal price tag to less level
2. would a leveleditor for the workshop instead or additionally quite neat. I think the community could create a bunch of fun / interesting content with the given opportunities.

[GER] Ein toller Zusatz für Spieler denen die standartlevel zu einfach waren. Aber 1. sind es für den Normalpreis meiner Meinung nach zu wenige Level und 2. währe statdessen oder zusätzlich ein Level editor für den Workshop sehr schick. Ich denke mit den gegebenen Möglichkeiten kann die Community wie bei Portal ziemlich nicen Schei* erstellen.

While I still enjoyed my time, I definitely liked the campaign in the base game better.

The Hard Times DLC represents a definite step-up in a challenge and a couple spots of the levels even had me scratching my head for a bit of how I could accomplish what it wants me to do.

Hard Times DLC adds 4 challenge levels; no story, campaign, dialog, just 4 challenging "get to the exit" good-size levels. It took me just under 2 hours to complete the four levels. The added challenge definitely made me think more, and so when I did figure it out and accomplish it, it does have a better sense of accomplishment than completing the game. However, I was still having more fun in the campaign. (ymmv)

If you enjoyed the puzzles in the campaign, but want a much greater challenge, give this DLC a shot. These are well done, and get you thinking.

Of the four levels, only the last one is something of a different idea that I didn't overly care for. The fourth level is not a puzzle so much as it's just simply a challenge of accomplishing the obvious that it wants you to do (Move Box A to B and don't let them fall in an assembly line fashion). So it's simply a test of speed and control..

Overall: I recommend it if you want a challenge and are not interested in additional story. 7 out of 10.

Se trata únicamente de cuatro misiones que expanden el mundo de Rochard, sin historia, pero con ellas por fin se ha sacado todo el potencial en términos físicos que presentaba el original. Son misiones difíciles que requieren de bastante habilidad para superarlas. Muy recomendable.

Puzzles are little harder and definitely more fun than in main game. They make you think unlike in main game where they were easy to do and you can beat them without using your brain as much :). Here you need more time to get everything right. But the harder they are the better, so from there comes addicting aspect of this game .Only downside is that they are short or too few. Fisrt one is super easy, other 3 are challenging to a point. But still after little planing doable, you dont need youtube walktroughs for it. I Recommend it, and would even like more content for this game or some sequel, cause i had a blast playing it.

Hard Times gives you slightly more challenging puzzles than in the original game but still not very difficult hence the game being beautifully casual.

Only downside would be that unlike in the original game where music was scarcely used and played only at the right moments to create the best atmospheric experience, in the DLC, however, soundtracks are overused (loop) through the entire stage and thus help you realize even the best music can bore you if repeated too many times.

The DLC is solid but you shouldn't expect it to be out of trend. It can be completed about in an hour or two depending upon how skillful you are. Unless you are willing to support the developers, waiting until it hits 75% discount or higher seems to be a wise choice from a consumer standpoint.

Coming from someone who relatively often play puzzle games, and who just completed The Swapper, I think the base game was way too easy - so Hard Times was very welcome, yet still not that difficult. Reminds me of the extra level in Klonoa.

A bit problematic depiction that again the only woman in the game is helpless, and you must rescue her.
