Totally recommend this game. Maybe easier to finish with a gamepad but I found it easy enough with a keyboard. Don't mind the graphics - might seem cartoonish but that just adds to the game. Main character is a laugh! Nice fellow.

All in all, a nice game to just while away some time. Except for maybe 2 places, the game was easy to finish. Worth the money.

Great platformer with 3d graphics, 2d movement, nice puzzles and some action. Good for casual playing. I was a little reluctant to get it because the store video made it look more like an action game, but it is (so far at least) mostly focused on puzzles, and the action parts are very easy. As it was on sale I immediately bought the DLC as well.

Great platformer with solid physics engine. I've enjoyed this title so far. Combines jumping, shooting, and gravity gun with some clever humour and fun story line.

I picked up on sale and at the price I paid I am 100% satisfied with my purchase.

7.75/10.0

+ Very fun and fast paced, intuitive controls, enjoyable abilities, great soundtrack
- Difficulty curve lowered towards end, predictable plot

Not much more can be said about this well-convcieved title. Rochard isn't your everyday side-scrolling platformer as it creates its own identity in the mask of its weapon. As the main character you're capable of shooting bullets and grabbing objects by holding down on the mouse. Release will throw objects away or use momentum to swing yourself around like spider-man. You're also given a few unique grenade throwing options that aid your progress.

The main downfall is how upside-down the structure of the level designs are. Flipping the game around, it would make more sense because the starting levels are more difficult than the end ones. Levels get shorter and puzzles aren't as crafty or unique. My biggest gripe was honestly the shining moment of the game: the final boss fight. It was incredibly fun and after it was over, it left me wondering why the game lacked these kind of fights throughout the game. Don't get me wrong, blasting one guy into another, or throwing a mechnized shooting turret into a group of enemies has its positives. Yet I would have loved to see some unique fights take place at the end of each world.

Buy: For the gameplay
Don't Buy: For the plot, difficulty

Rochard is a very nice platformer game in which you play as John Rochard, a miner. He has a gravity gun that can move objects, and he is also able to manipulate gravity. Through the levels you have to kill some bad guys and use your skill and gun wisely (especially in the Hard Times DLC).
For me, Rochard is an interesting and awesome mix of Half Life 2 (because of the gravity gun), Portal and Constant C, all of which I really enjoyed playing.
So yeah, I would recommend it to everyone, who loves this genre or the games mentioned above.

A very lovable and charming little 2D sidescroller platformer with some light physics-based combat and puzzling by Finish indie dev Recoil Games. Features a fantastic soundtrack by Poets of the Fall keyboardist Markus “Captain” Kaarlonen (Seriously, it's super good! One of my favourite soundtracks ever!)

This is a puzzle game with only a handful of puzzles that actually feel like puzzles. Unfortunately, most of the game seems to be solving the simple tasks the game throws at you that require little thought or careful analysis. There are some fun quirks but they never really develop into anything significant. The graphics, like the puzzles, have their charm but don't really go anywhere, and the story is complete garbage.

Is it the worst way to spend your time? No, and you might get some enjoyment out of it, but there are better places to spend your money and your time than this game. I own the DLC and have not even bothered with it because I was so bored by the game.

I had fun.
The mechanics of the game were nicely taught to the player, given as an upgrade as an aid when it was required.
The gameplay was very solid, but also very easy. I had no pressure of losing at any time due to regenitive health and how you can abuse carrying cover with you.
I found the story and cinematic to be very subpar. The voice acting was quite a turn off, as the choice of words during cut scenes were weak and unrealistic. I also found the generic Skypolice voice to be strange and somewhat silly in the last half of the game. I'm not sure if it was intentional.
The last boss battle/climax of the game was a huge let down. I expected some form of a megaboss puzzle to conclude Rochard, but no. What I got was a simple- shoot grenades here and then shoot grenades at the boss to win.
Overall the most important thing was that I had fun. I had honest to god fun playing this game.
I recommend to eventually try it out, but don't kill yourself to get it, wait for a sale.

This game is packed with a massive payload of asteroid miner heart and fun. It's a funky-physics platformer, where gravity, security systems, lasers, and tractor beams are your obstacle, tool, weapon and shield. It's got great visual and sound design and voice-acting.

Rochard's good ole boys in space make asteroid mines seem like the salt-of-the-cosmos backbone of our utopian future, with just the right amount of pesky pirates and faceless corporations to keep us on our toes.

Help Rochard save his crew! I mean it, go do it now!
