About This Game

Bringing the legendary war between two of science-fiction's most popular characters to FPS fans, AvP delivers three outstanding single player campaigns and provides untold hours of unique 3-way multiplayer gaming.

Experience distinctly new and thrilling first person gameplay as you survive, hunt and prey in the deadly jungles and swamps surrounding the damned colony of Freya's Prospect.

  • As the Marine, you'll experience a claustrophobic and terrifying experience where light is your friend, but there's never enough. However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity's last line of defense, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry.
  • As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honor ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face.
  • As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares - the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws like a steel trap and claws like blades.
  • Play all sides off against each other in a series of unique 3-way online modes and go tooth-to-claw-to-pulse rifle in the reinvention of one of multiplayer gaming's defining moments.
AvP uses the Steam Cloud to store game stats and skill information, which is then used for matchmaking purposes.

Engaging & visceral // Recommended on sale

+ Audio-design is loyal to the franchise, & generally very well-implemented
+ Verty detailed environments; suffers some shortcomings in textures, but the issue isn't pronounced enough to detract from the experience
+ All marine weapons have alternate firing modes, which does well to compensate for the otherwise run-of-the-mill FPS mechanics
+ Objective markers are clear-cut and easy to follow
+ Myriad collectibles throughout the stages; unfortunately, only the audiologs of the marine campaign have any value beyond achievement hunting
+ Predator & alien executions are both spectacular & sufficiently varied
+ Story is nothing exceptional, but is very well-presented in that it is told from the differing perspectives of the three races
+ Each race plays very differently, & all feel refreshingly original in comparison to the others

- Melee feels underpowered for both predator & alien
- Flat & uninspired voice-acting (Lance Henriksen being the notable exception)
- Enemy alien AI tends to suffer hiccups in performance; they will sometimes get stuck on walls & spin around, for example
- Cannot cancel lengthy execution animations; this can lead to a lot of cheap-feeling deaths

Aliens Vs Predator (2010). ”If it bleeds we can kill it”

The Aliens and Predator franchises have had there ups downs, and when combined into films it was the ladder. In gaming however they really worked! Starting back in the Arcade as a “Final Fight” style beat-em up, the Atari Jaguar in 1994, the PC version in 2000, and a sequel in 2004. All were fun games for their time. So how does the latest in the series hold up? Well it helps if your a fan of Alien, and The Predator movies, and I am so my review may be biased. The game is broken into three campaigns that tie in the main story. Players can choose a Colonial Marine, the Alien, or The Predator. Each class plays very unique with their own abilities. The Marine campaign was my favorite, it captures some of the Aliens feel. There is a great line-up of movie weapons, tense scenes, and a lot of action. My complaints for the Marine are minor. I really wish they added “Aim Down Sites”. Firing from the hip in gaming is just old school, I need my sites! Second complaint is the motion tracker, It's all but useless in the game. I know I'll get some heat for saying this, but Aliens Colonial Marines made far better use of the motion tracker. My second favorite campaign was The Predator. With all of his tools at your disposal, you will feel like an unstoppable hunter. My only complaint on The Predator is the “pred jump”. At times it can be a pain to line up, but once you know the map its less frustrating. The Aliens campaign was my least favorite. The Alien can transition to walls, and run in 3D. It has some interesting fatalities, and is extremely fast. However This is extremely disorientating in first person view, and I can't tell you how many times I ran right by an enemy because of the speed the Alien runs at. This could have been easily fixed if the Alien had 3rd person perspective. The game offers a decent amount of multiplayer modes, and a decent number of maps. The only thing I wish is there was a little more variety in the scenery. Your either in a Jungle, or a pyramid, and that’s about it. The game will run on almost any PC if you adjust the resolution, and graphics options (Not your Apple II, but anything from 2010 and up should be fine). Overall this game despite its flaws is a very fun play, and I recommend it. If you've been passing on this one, and your a fan of either franchise you should pick it up. You can typically find it during a Steam sale for $5

The combat itself is very tense and the aliens will attack you from all sides. Whilst you must keep an eye on your motion tracker it's hard to do so when you are aiming at an alien on the ceiling and can hear the Predator laughing at you and get attacked from behind.
You start out in an industrial complex and the feel and tone of the game are much like Doom 3 as it's very dark and you must rely on your torch (or flashlight if you will) although there are some larger inside and outside areas. The game breaks you in gently with movement showing up on your motion scanner but not actually appearing whilst you get accustomed to your range of movement and controls which are standard FPS controls. The sounds are awesome though. A lot of work has been done in this area and all the sound effects from the films are there.
The story for each race is fairly short; the Marine probably gets the most out of it all, followed by the Predator & Alien. Each race also plays quite differently due to their differing abilities. The Alien is fast but surprisingly fragile - you must be stealthy at all times; the Marine relies on ranged weapons while the Predator & Alien mostly need to get in close, and so on. All in all, it's an interesting mix and the differences in the storyline are played out quite well. There's also a decent selection of multiplayer modes for all species and a wave-after-wave "survival" mode for the Marine.

Aliens vs. Predator is a great modern remake of a classic PC game. Having played Aliens vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator 2 in the early 2000's, I had high expectations for this game and it did not disappoint. Graphically speaking the game is sleek, detailed, and surprisingly good for a 2010 release. As with previous incarnations of Aliens vs. Predator for the PC, you can play as a Marine, Alien, or a Predator, each with their own story and gameplay. There are several games in the series before this remake, and one sequel Alien: Isolation, released in 2014.

I got a pirated version, but i still buy this game. Because I believe Rebellion deserve to earn my money. I'm still very enjoy each playthrough! Short but satisfied! It take about 8 hours to completed all the species campaign in medium difficult! After reading some review from other players, i made a general summary:

RECOMMENDATION:
*Yes, if you enjoy futuristic survival horror, predator hunting, alien prey, gun shooting
*No, if you looking for crowed PvP, extreme smart ai, long adventure, mass variation maps

GAME MODE:
*Campaign:
= Linear Story
= 3 campaign for each species

*Multiplayer:
= PvP (Only allow to change species class after ending a match)
= PvE (4 players in a small survior map)

+Amazing quality graphic for 2010 tech, decent for 2015
+Nvidia GT650M run 60fps on 1080p with high graphic setting
+3 species character linked in story mode
+Allow to choose any species to start
+Shadow effect is very accurate
+Alien is very good hiding in the dark
+Less weapons variation but satisfied
+Violent finishing moves
+Predator jumping mechanics is useful
+Allow to block melee attack!
+Replay to get a better score for each level
+Replayable for item collection
+Fun survival mode for singleplayer & multiplayer
+No bug / glitches found at the moment

-Overwrite auto saving checkpoint if playing other campaign
-Some predator sound effect is not original from classic film
-Cannot skip finishing moves
-Too dark in the dark place
-Map recycled, but still acceptable for me
-Only 2 survival map (without DLC)
-Lack of combat to versus Predator
-No heavy weapons such as: minigun, net gun
-Cannot revive team-mate in survivor mode
-Still some hacker in multiplayer
-No bot for multiplayer

ENJOYMENT:
*Offline Mode 8/10
*Online Mode 6/10
