About This Content

The Elite Units of the East DLC for Empire: Total War™ adds 12 new elite units to the Maratha and Ottoman factions of Empire: Total War. Empire: Total War expands further East than any previous Total War game and this Downloadable Content includes the very best units from the Eastern lands.
Most of these soldiers' expertise developed on the battlefield - some are fearsome brigands, others of them are drawn from a strong academic background, learned warriors.
They will provide a vast array of tactical options: intimidating and cowing your enemies.

Once you've purchased the content, you will unlock all new 12 Elite Units of the East in the single player campaign under the conditions below. They will also be available in multiplayer and single player battle modes, when playing with the appropriate faction.

Haydut Irregulars (Ottoman Empire) — These irregulars have the field skills needed to survive in the mountains, and all the cunning of bandits.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Military Governor’s Encampment in the Balkans
Wallachian Boyars (Ottoman Empire) — These swift light horsemen are right to see themselves as better men than their foes, as they pursue enemies from the battlefield.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Military Governor’s Barracks in Sofia, Bulgaria
Bosnian Panduks (Ottoman Empire) — These irregulars are expert skirmishers, but can also give foes a nasty shock in close combat.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Military Governor’s Encampment in Sarajevo, Bosnia
Circassian Armoured Cavalry (Ottoman Empire) — Medieval cavalry in chainmail may look hopelessly old fashioned, but it is a foolish enemy who underestimates these men.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Army Staff College in Ankara, Anatolia
Armenian Archers (Ottoman Empire) — Seemingly archaic in an age of gunpowder and revolutionary fervour, these bow-armed skirmishers are still a dangerous force.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Military Governor’s Residence in Yerevan, Armenia
Libyan Kuloglu (Ottoman Empire) — Libyan kuloglu are auxiliary cavalry, capable of dismounting to deliver a devastating volley with their blunderbusses.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Military Academy in Cairo, Egypt
Palestinian Auxiliaries (Ottoman Empire) — These musket-armed regulars are good soldiers and, as garrison troops, are well able to keep order among the ordinary folk.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Barracks in Jerusalem, Palestine
Cairo Janissaries (Ottoman Empire) — Cairo janissaries are recruited from among the children of janissary families, which gives them a sense of camaraderie and superiority.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Cairo janissaries are recruited from among the children of janissary families, which gives them a sense of camaraderie and superiority
Mounted Nizam-I-Cedit (Ottoman Empire) — These mounted infantry ride into battle before delivering volleys of fire, but can fight on horseback if needed.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Army Vizierate anywhere
Rajput Zamindars (Maratha) — These heavy cavalry are armoured from head to toe in mail and plate, giving them a terrific shock value as they charge home.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Staff College or Military Governor’s Barracks in Udaipur, Rajpootana; Ahmedabad, Gujarat; Ahmadnagar, Ahmadnagar; Ujjain, Malwa and Magpur, Berar
Poligars (Maratha) — Poligars are unusual: elite light cavalry who wear armour. Despite the extra weight, they are still a terrifyingly swift force on the battlefield.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Military Academy or Military Governor’s Barracks anywhere
Barawardi (Maratha) — Barawardi are an elite light cavalry force. Despite wearing armour, they are surprisingly quick on the battlefield.
Single Player Campaign Requirements: Military Governor’s Encampment in Kabul, Afghanistan and Zahedan, Baluchistan

As in the description The Elite Units of the East DLC adds 12 new elite units to the Maratha and Ottoman factions. A greater variety of available units is always welcome. If you like one of these factions you'll love this add-on.

overall, worth the cost of 1,99; gives good foot units as well as cavalry so its worth the cost if you play as ottomans regulaly.

And yet I like this.

This is a review of Elite units of the east for Empire Total War

This is somewhat of an iffy one, if you really like the ottoman empire then it is really a must, with alot of powerful milita units such as Palastani auxilires and alot of light infantry irregluars, If you are not into this kind of factions (maratha units are in it too) then pass on this one, i still recommend it

Units: Armenian archers (Ottoman), Kardawi (maratha), Cario jannisaries (Ottoman), Cicurrian armored cavarly (Ottoman), Hayduet Irregulars (Ottoman), Libyan Golag (Ottoman), Mounted Nizam Cedet (Ottoman), Palastanie auxilires (Ottoman), Poligar (marathas), Raja Zimbardi (Marathas), Wallichan boyars (Ottoman)

Except for the Circassian Armored cav (which was a unit desperatly needed for the OE to match Euro cuirassiers and garde du corp) Wallachian Boyars (which are slightly better in stats & cheaper then Mamelukes) and the Libyan Kuloglu (which is the only unit in ETW with a blunderbusse A.K.A shotgun) which are the GOOD units, this DLC was crap, skimishers are not elite, elite means its stats surpass the normal units and inspires other units, no proper grenadiers to match or better yet considering the ottomans intelect of gunpowder "surpass" Euro grenadiers and no Elite Janissary Guards that have bayonets, rapid reload, can form squares, platoon fires, inspires nearby units and has melee/morale stats to match the eilte untis of the west's swiss guards & others (NOT TO MENTION PROPER JANISSARY UNIFORMS LIKE THE ONES IN MUHTESEM YUZYIL instead of these un-eilte indian looking beyliks that have vests with open chests!!)
But for the sake of the good units mentioned above get this DLC.
