"You can’t always get what you want. But if you try, sometimes you get what you need."
If you think Space Siege is a spiritual successor to the Dungeon Siege series, you will be disappointed. On the surface this game looks like an action role-playing game with interesting physical effects and multiple weapons you can customize. But the AI does not provide any tactical challenge and the controls are below-average (e.g. keyboard mapping cannot be changed). Further shortcomings are the total lack of side quests and a layout of levels and missions, that is remarkably linear. Your only companion is an android, and its silence will only be interrupted by the constant explosions around you. The cybernetic choices are a bit more meaningful, but its implementation feels rushed and unbalanced. In the end this game works as a representative of the action genre, but just barely.
