Let's Have A Chat

There has been some confusion regarding what we're up to and I wanted to clear a few things up for everyone.

A little while ago we cancelled all other titles/developments at Trek Industries once we internally committed to approaching The Orion Project again. While most of these titles and games were never publicly announced or mentioned, some were.

These cancellations included games like:
1. ORION: Interlude (sequel to Prelude)
2. ORION: Interlude (Episodic Campaign)
3. ORION: Retro (action/platformer)
4. ORION: Fueled (Adrenaline Racing)
5. ORION 1 (Campaign, Trilogy)
6. ORION 2 (Campaign, Trilogy)
7. ORION 3 (Campaign, Trilogy)
8. OrionVR

( WHY WE CANCELLED THEM )
We decided to cancel these titles not because we're not going to be delivering these experiences, but because we want to deliver them in a new and unique way - a way that doesn't split or segregate the community by forcing an annual or bi-annual re-purchase of a new game or sequel. This also benefits us on the development side of things allowing us to focus on what we create instead of going backwards and re-creating/re-modulating systems and modules every year.

( WHAT WE ARE DOING INSTEAD )
Instead we're going to use all those designs and technology and integrate it into one giant and connected experience via The Orion Project. These are games within games, but are being called Modules because of their inner-connected relationships/parallel activity alongside other modules at the same time.

( ORION: PRELUDE 2 = FPS MODULE 1.0/2.0 )
So you'll be getting that sequel to Prelude, which is incredible FPS and Third-Person gameplay with the ability to purchase Weapons/Vehicles (coming after 1.5) and tackling side objectives and bonus missions. It won't just be a new camera angle and weapons as we've also evolved the overall gameplay that occurs during these modules and perspectives and will be taking it a step further.

( THE EVOLUTION )
You can see these in changes like the mobility of the power source (Harvester) compared to the Power Gen (Prelude), the ability to buy weapons/vehicles anywhere rather than running all the way to a shop, the confirmation of weapon attachments, the deeper player customization and so much more.

So if you're a fan coming from ORION: Prelude you will find the experience of the sequel within The Orion Project courtesy of the FPS Module 1.0 and 2.0, otherwise previously known as and using content/assets/designs from ORION Interlude (aka ORION: Prelude 2).

( ENTIRE GAMES WORTH OF CONTENT )
You're getting an entire FPS games worth of content courtesy of this integration. We will be doing the same thing with the Mechs and we will be doing a full games worth instead of a Mech-spin off game.

So instead of just one Mech vehicle with a preset weapon loadout in the game like Prelude, we will have multiple classes of Mechs with an on-going and growing list of unit types within those classes. In addition we are developing an entire arsenal of weapons exclusively for the Mechs and the content of the Mech module will be comparable to a game like Titan Fall 1.

The same goes for the Racing module(s), the Campaign, and so on and so forth.

- - -

We are tackling each project one at a time to not get overwhelmed and I believe we are making incredible progress and a year from now people will very much enjoy what we are all building together.

ORION: Prelude 2 - Coming June 2016

( PRELUDE FANS REJOICE! )
We are going to work our butts off in order to deliver you all (and us) one hell of a game! The direct sequel to our first indie mega hit, ORION: Prelude is coming June 2016 courtesy of The Orion Project!
https://youtu.be/v6Nddfw2NnQ

( THE ORION PROJECT )
The ultimate Space Adventure and Combat Video Game for PC. The Orion Project is a living, breathing and Persistent Universe allowing for you to travel the Galaxy and experience Open World Gameplay like never before!

( NO PAY WALLS - EVER)
There will never be a pay wall between any two friends. Even for specific/exclusive content like the 2017 Campaign, if one friend owns it he or she can invite any non-owning friends to participate, for example.

( MANY GAMES IN ONE )
The Orion Project is one of the largest video game projects ever undertaken. It will ultimately be a culmination of many games pieced together as one giant one.

I want to make Racing games, Fighting games, Social games, Sims, Building Games and more. But instead of making 20 or so titles over the course of 5-10 years and charging you anywhere from $10-$60 for the, I'd rather focus all those experiences into "The Orion Project" in interesting and creative ways.

( ORION PRELUDE 2 / ORION: INTERLUDE )
Many people ask what happened to these games and if they still exist. This title of course still exists and is coming to The Orion Project under the name of "FPS Module".

( PAY OR PLAY )
If we sell anything inside of The Orion Project for a real-world currency it is our objective to also make it obtainable via Store Credits all the same.

( EARNING CREDITS )
There are already a variety of ways to earn Store Credits in the game, including: Daily + Weekly Quests, Trek Achievements as well as an upcoming ION-to-CREDIT conversion system.

( THE CAMPAIGN )
"ORION 1" is coming courtesy of the newly announced Campaign Module starting in 2017. Get ready for some epic cooperative/single-player missions and story!

The Orion Project is only $1 on Steam

I have now found the ultimate reason to go on in life. I shall forever be a knight in the holy crusade against the blasphemous dinosaurs. I hereby devote my very existence to driving a tank and shooting velociraptors on the ground and failing at taking pterodactyls out of the sky. ORION: Prelude is the pinnacle achievement of humanity.

Orion Prelude- best dino horde survival game I have ever had the luxury of playing
Orion Prelude- best marketing that shows the FUN aspect in games. (recently that department has been lacking in my experience.)
Orion Prelude- versatile, well rounded, and surprisingly difficult to get bored at
Orion Prelude- exellent use of teamwork is rewarded and challenges are actually challenging
Orion Prelude- spectacular, useful, balanced, rewarding, diverse weapons and vehicles
Orion Prelude- more than meets the eye

When compared the the like of Halo and Hatoful Boyfriend, you cant go wrong with this game. But if you compare this game against Airport Simulator 2014 and Gasp, Its still really good!

This game is best for young children. It shows them the importance of staying away from dinosaurs just like in real life. Dinosaurs and guns make a great combination to help their young minds.

Have some self respect and wear a diaper when playing this masterpiece. Taking breaks is a sin.

Where can you go wrong with this game? It's very cheap and super fun. Honestly, I'd buy this game for $10 or even $20. I highly suggest trying it out or even getting the 4-pack so you can play with your friends. How disappointed can you get when it was only a dollar?

10/10 would watch friend be eaten again.

Cheap fun, if you are complaining that this game isnt fun enough or something, you're an idiot. Its 1$. If you play it for 30 minutes you got your 1$ worth out of it. Regret not buying the 4 pack. Pretty fun game with friends. Jetpack dinosaur killing is quite entertaining. 7.5/10

Alot of fun for an odler game. Fun with friends and the ever so not safe for work chat and in game voip. Its a great 11 round shooter that has a similar set up and play style to borderlands but its a survival game with vehicles youd see in Halo or mechwarrior. If you ever played Sanctum/orcs must die etc youll like the game. It reminds me of alot different game mechanics from other games. Online is solid, lots of bots to help you :3

My only issue that is the interface to buying weapon and augments are not the same and some what complicated/confusing, augments you double click and weapons you have to click the green purchase.

This game reminds me of the older Halo multiplayer. This game is without a doubt worth $.49. I mean its not perfect. It has bugs and glitches but its only $.49 so you really cant complain. If I had to decribe this game, It would be Halo 2 +Dinosuars += Awesomeness

As much as I absolutely despise games that try to be Halo, Doom and Dead Space all shifted into one blobby, stinking mess, I have to admit, this game caught me by surprise. When I saw the game on the Steam Store, and the big, hunky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with some sort of shiny, LED space suit caught my eye as he stood rather awkwardly next to the title, I thought "Oh, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not this ♥♥♥♥♥ again." However, then I began playing the game and, over the span of about four hours, I realized what it was all about.

Most games pride themselves on intriguing characters, amazing, scripted scenes and all-out fantastic storylines. But, nope. Orion Prelude isn't about any of those things. Now, I know what you're going to say. "Hold on there one second, Contorted. If it's not awesome, intriguing or fantastic, how is it a good game" Well, let me tell you. Usually when playing Call of Duty, Far Cry, Halo, you name it. I sometimes find myself thinking. "Isn't this practically another one of those stories but just happening a different way? I mean, you start the game out not knowing what the ♥♥♥♥'s going on, a villian is introduced. Somewhere down the line he does something terrible and probably kills off one of your mates and then you ♥♥♥♥ him up for it and the game ends with you walking cockily into the distance?" With Orion, that kind of every-day ♥♥♥♥ doesn't happen. It's the simplicity and almost childlike logic on which the game prides itself on that makes it somewhat charming. It's one of the only games I've ever played that actually exists simply for fun and, somehow, the lack of anything huge or emotionally powerful happening actually works towards aplifying that charming simplicity. It literally exists for FUN.

However, the game isn't perfect. The lack of logic may work towards the game's advantage and atmosphere, but in some places it does get a little annoying. The slightest nudge from a T-Rex can send you flying to the other side of the map screaming "To infity and ♥♥♥♥ you" in the opposite direction. Also, the idea that a flying Dinosaur that's about the size of a large Human can push away an air-based vehicle that's about five times its' size never fails to floppify my action boner. But, once again, these annoying little pockets of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t is what makes it all the more satisfying when you unload enough bullets into the Dinosaurs that are coming at you to kill them and they flop dead to the ground. Watching a flying Dino fall about five hundred feet and splat on a rock never fails to make me giggle. Also, one of the most, and I can't find another word to describe it, 'epic' game mechanics ever is the fact that, when a teammate dies, or you kill a T-Rex or Spinosaurus, the screen flops into slow-motion. Why? Because it makes killing a Dinosaur all the more awesome when its' body falls limp in slow motion.

Overall, Orion: Prelude is a fun little game, which is very childlike, but also quite charming and adorable to play. It's like you're one of the Spartans from Halo, stuck into a game of Primal Carnage, but you have a jetpack, medigun or a massive, armoured vehicle to help you out.
