It's a great game if Aeria isn't hosting it.

Alliance of Valiant Arms, huh? To be completely honest, it was the most memorable free-to-play shooter I have ever played. It was just so much fun and filled with content, and people who you could befriend, compete alongside clans, and beat up really good players. But, I do NOT recommend this game. If you're willing to try out a neat free-to-play shooter, this is the wrong game, though, it's the only one you'll see that is decent relatively to the rest. Problem is the companies that published it. Redduck has done a decent amount of work towards their game, but chose the wrong companies. Their first try was through ijji, a now non-existing free-to-play publisher that held A.V.A. together, slightly. Apart from all the problems, ijji had to shut down and sold the rights to publish this title to Aeria Games.

And what is Aeria Games, you ask?
Well, Aeria Games only cares about one method: To profit. If you cruise around their forums, you'll find that most of the topics are complaints related with certain games, and how those games seem to be left out, among other things. All of their games are just money-grabbing, to be fair. Meanwhile, A.V.A. had its share of content. Now its basically just pay-to-win. They removed the permanent purchase option from most weapons (To "balance" the game, they said!); They continously release limited items that require currency; The game is completely broken, thanks to their amazing server hardware, and game optimization on the other hand; It lacks support - GSs' (GameSages) do not know what's going on; GMs' just post whatever they were ordered to; Support tickets are replied with automated responses, most of the times; And they, Aeria Games, completely ignored the developer's warning about future changes. So you see, Aeria Games is just terrible in any aspect and turned an amazing game into a pile of burning horse crap. But, if you just want to play for fun, this is the game for you.

If I have to be honest, I must say this... Before ♥♥♥♥ty update, it was the best Free-to-play FPS game for older computers. It was something like better Counter Strike. But now, after this update? If you wan't to play this game normally, you need to pay with REAL money, beacuse earning virtual money is ♥♥♥♥IN HARD THING TO DO. In this time, you'll need to repair damaged weapons, grenades, and more... Finally, you don't have any virtual money. Second thing, is that now if you buy OP weapons, you can't buy it for permanent use. You are just buying it for e.g. 30 days. I will say it again. Before this ♥♥♥♥ed update, it was great FPS, but now... Forget about this. It's hosted by Aeria, so... You know...

The textbook defenition of a Pay2Win game. Almost everything had a pricetag and most of the items expire after a few games 1.2/10 would not play again ~Jakeford
