About This Software

Design, Compare, Tweak And Apply Photo Filters, Fast

CameraBag is an award-winning app for fast and lightweight photo processing on your Mac or PC. Using Lightroom or Photoshop can often be like driving a semi-trailer to pick up your kids from school. CameraBag offers a light and quick way to apply, tweak, and compare your go-to filters and adjustments across your photos. The toolset is remarkably robust, and is designed to handle all common photo editing tasks with ease, even on RAW photos.

An Essential Addition To Any Photographer's Toolset

Many photographers use CameraBag alongside other photo organizing or retouching software as their go-to tool for quickly comparing different filters and adjustments on their photos. Others find that CameraBag fulfills all of their photo editing needs in a much more elegant way than their current photo software. Consider CameraBag either as an adjunct to your current photo editing tools or as an easy-to-learn big step up from basic photo editors.

Photo Editing, Meet CameraBag's Tiles

Why is everyone raving about CameraBag? In large part it's because of CameraBag's revolutionary tile-based editing workflow. You can always see exactly which adjustments are applied to your photo, tweak them, nest or rearrange the order they're applied in, and layer multiple instances of any adjustment. Everything is non-destructive, editable, and easy to see and compare. Once you try it you won't be able to go back.

Useful Tools You Won't Find Anywhere Else

CameraBag's tools cover nearly everything you'd want to do to a photo (aside from retouching to remove wrinkles or make people skinnier). And it includes tools you won't find in any other package. Advanced exposure and coloring tools, multiple kinds of tone curves, sharpening, cropping and more - all of these work with an ease that less-focused apps can only dream of. Our proprietary Analog Engine features an astounding 96-bit color fidelity (especially useful on RAW photos), which means you can layer on as many adjustments as you need without losing smooth color gradations.

“Stunningly fantastic … I don’t think I’ve ever seen any photo app quite as elegant and easy to use.” -Cult of Mac

Non-Cheesy Filters And An Easy Way to Re-Use Looks

Tired of fumbling through actions or presets to enhance your pictures? CameraBag takes the power of Photoshop's actions and makes it a dramatically more user-friendly process. If you don't know where you want to go with a photo, try one of CameraBag's many default filter presets, including classic film emulations. You can adjust any existing preset or design filters from scratch to save as your own re-useable presets. Filter effects can be large or small, for those wanting dramatic filters or lighter professional touch-ups.

Select Features

  • Analog Engine - CameraBag's 96-bit Analog Engine ensures your images retain smooth color gradations even with lots of adjustments.
  • Non-Destructive - All of CameraBag's adjustments and effects are applied as non-destructive layers, so you can always see what adjustments you've made and tweak any of them.
  • Raw Workflow - CameraBag easily handles RAW images with their additional color depth, giving you a much finer level of control over the tones in your photos.
  • Batch Processing - You can apply any set of adjustments or pre-made filters, along with resizing, to entire folders of photos at a time with Camerabag's easy batch processing.
  • Export Filters - You can design filters in CameraBag on your Mac or PC and export them to use on your phone or tablet with our iOS photo app Fotograf.

Worst developers ever.
CameraBag 2 is very nice, simple photo editor.
Very nice, simple, unusable photo editor.

What's the problem?
It's error displayed while loading photos:
"CameraBag can't open that file. You may need to install drivers from your camera manufacturer if you're trying to open RAW files."
Great, but I've never tried to open any RAW file in CameraBag.
You can try open .bmp .jpg .png... maybe you'll have luck.
Probably no.

It's randomly! Can you belive it?
You could open any photo today, but tomorrow you couldn't open same photo!
Some peoples called Nevercenter (devs of CameraBag2). And? And they ignored them! They ignored peoples who paid for their software.

"RAW" problem is common issue in this programme.
In Nevercenter nobody cares.
They've created a great program and spoiled him.

Don't buy it. It's unusable software and you shouldn't hope that anybody will fix it. F#ck you very much, Nevercenter. 0/10.

So here I go editing 3 JPEG files, saved them, and the program performs something that Kapsersky Total Security doesn't like. So the program is forced to shutdown and the executable deleted, and all the progress I made on my files reverted.

Until this and other crashes are fixed I would STRONGLY suggest you buy another program elsewhere.

Much easier to use then other software out there. When it actually works.

I'm getting constant crashes, and sometimes it doesn't reconise a file type, even though I saved it as that while in CameraBag!?

Even for $7.49 I can't recommend this.

Edit: CB2 requires RAW codec update in windows.

Review Edit: The Steam store page for CameraBag 2 advertises this program can edit RAW files, it does not do that out of the box. That was the whole reason I bought CB2, to edit RAW. My OnePlus One can shoot RAW in a DNG file, but CB2 only supports RAW if you have the updated codecs installed on your PC, No place does it tell you this.....! Thank you 'Phaneron' for helping out.

As for a review of the product itself. It's great, it's like a way way less expensive version of Adobe Lightroom, just with less levels of granularity over the control sliders and, a few less features, and less clean UI design. But it does the trick,

It's very easy to use. The interface is simple. Most things are straight forward, and the software allows you the option of doing everything completely manually, or using preset filters. Cycling through filters also allows you to see an example of how each will affect your photo when applied. Great for cleaning up photos, adjusting lighting and colors. There are a few fun extras, like applying a vignette, a grain, or a film strip border. I'm a cosplay and convention photographer, so this is a huge help in taking a decent photo and making it a great photo.
The program also allows you to upload filters from elsewhere (like the first version of this program).

***EDIT***

I'm going to jump in and FULLY recant my negative review for one HUGE reason.

Those of you that were angry about the old filters being removed with the new update, you can ABSOLUTELY add every single filter you loved back into the new and improved CameraBag 2.7.

So STOP being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off for nothing and go here:

http://nevercenter.com/camerabag/desktop/download/

Once you're there look for this section below and click each one of the four zip files to download them:

Legacy Styles:
CameraBag v2.6 Borders
CameraBag v2.6 Cameras
CameraBag v2.6 Default Favorites
CameraBag v2.0 Legacy Styles

After you download all four you're ready to rock! Below are instructions on how to put them all back in!

Step 1: Open CameraBag 2

Step 2: Click "File" at the top left, and select "Reveal Presets Folder"

Step 3: Now that your presets folder is open, keep it open, but CLOSE CameraBag.

Step 4: In this folder, you should see "Default Presets".... Those are the filters currently in the NEW version. Make three new folders and name them whatever you like, but mine are named "Borders", "Cameras", "and "Old Favorites". I had a fourth folder for "Legacy Styles", but I'll explain why I took it out in the next step.

Step 5: Extract your Borders zip in the "Borders" folder, and the Cameras zip into the "Cameras" folder.

You will want to extract the "CameraBag v2.6 Default Favorites" and the "CameraBag v2.0 Legacy Styles" zip files into the same folder, because both zips have a total of 36 identical filters that would just be duplicates taking up space in different folders.

So, once you extract the 2.6 Default favorites zip into the "Old Favorites" folder (or whatever you named it), do the same thing for the 2.0 Legacy favorites zip. Once you add in the 2.0 Legacy Styles zip into the folder, you will get a prompt about the duplicate filter names. Click to SKIP all duplicates, to remove the 36 you dont need.

Step 6:

If you've made it to this point, you win!

Close your presets folder and OPEN CameraBag. You will now see every border, camera, and filter you so dearly loved in the old version, is now back and ready to use!

ENJOY!

Know what I love? Dropping money on some really promising software that winds up being a demo because the program freezes when I attempt to save a file. Example wanted? Well, my project looks great. A massive improvement on the original. I've tweaked a file for twenty minutes. Now, the gray screen of freezing programs appears after attempting to save. My hatred and frustration cannot be appeased. Now, visions of dispensing punishment upon the devs responsible for this half-♥♥♥♥♥ program fill my thoughts. Hate.

I've only been playing around for bit with this program but it's really nice. I've been editing some JPGs I took while on vacation and it's really intuitive. The only problem I've run into is when I try to edit my raw images from my nikon dslr they are tiny thumbnails instead of the full size pictures. I checked their compatability and they don't have my nikon on the list. A little bit sad, but I mostly shoot in JPG anyways so it's not a big deal. This should be obvious but if it's not, this is not photoshop. It will not do everything photoshop will and that is fine with me. I just want to be able to adjust the levels in my photos and this program allows me to do it. And for $11 I can't really ask for more.

I can't recommend it because it freezes when saving. I love everything else about the program. It's lightweight and loads super quick on my PC. I can toggle through dozens and dozens of filters and fine tune the image. But when I try to save, it freezes instantly. My PC is not to fault. I'm running 3.4 quad core CPU, 32 gigs of ram, killer video card, I can run ultra on almost every game in Steam. But Camerabag fails upon save. WTF?

If you liked using simple photo editors on smartphone, you will enjoy using CameraBag 2.
There's plenty of photo filters and tools to quickly turn your photos into masterpiece in seconds.

The cool features this software has, is that you can adjust how much the photo filter effects takes places in your photo. (eg. lightly or heavily) and the ability to add watermarks.

The cropping feature it comes with is such a handy feature. I can crop a image to perfect 4:3 profile picture or even 2:35:1 photo within a few clicks. Personally for me, it's get the job done way faster then using Abode Photoshop in most scenarios .

The Steam Community integration is huge bonus as it's allow you to post your stunning artwork on CameraBag's Steam Communty Hub.

Overall, If you looking for easy to use and simple photo editor that does the job, pickup this software now!
There's also 15 day trial on the developers website if you not sure if you should buy this program.p

This is a brilliant little tool for editing photos. Its kind of like Instagram, but you have much more control over the filters and effects. There are some things that it cannot do or that it is still easier to do in photoshop, but Its simple, powerful and easy to use and, therefore, well worth the low price!

A great software i recommend to anyone, it has interesting features, many pre-made effects which you can modify by your own taste. Of course, you are also able to create your own effects, personally, usually i am fine with most of the effects, the altering i am doing on them is just brightness/contrast mostly.
Is it worth the money? Hard to say... 12 euros for a photo editing software? Hell Yea!

Ease of use:
It's actually really damn easy to use it, every feature you might need you can find easily.
Even the newbiest user can play around with the advanced features.

Performance:
At this chapter i give it 10/10.
Photoshop might have more options and might be advanced, but to be honest, it really isn't that big of a difference.
Camerabag has pretty much all the features you can think of, it's also cheap and works flawlessly.

Bugs/Crashes/Glitches:
I only had 1 or 2 crashes so far, don't know the exact reason, but i didn't lose anything important.

Bottom Line:
Get it! It's not expensive, and it offers many things for this amount of money, you won't be disappointed at all.

Would be great if the program even started... Every time I try to launch CameraBag 2 through Steam on my iMac OS X 10.9.1, I get this error message: "CameraBag 2 quit unexpectedly." Be warned, this issue seems to be happening to a lot of people. Steam should pay more attention to issues like this one and warn the users on the product page and at least give a refund to all the users that spent their hard earned money on a title that just wont work... or fix this issue ASAP!

This Used to be pretty much the best Easy to use editing program. It had a bunch of amazing filters that otherwise you were hard pressed to find or do unless you had photoshop and a lot of time on your hands.

Now its been stripped down to almost barley nothing. It has a handfull of very minor filters where almost nothing changes but a few tone or color differences between them all. This is nothing like the program I purchased years ago. Its a shell of the old program.

The old version wasnt very vast either but the one redeeming quality is they had a good couple dozen filters and borders. I actually was hoping they would add more and keep expanding. But instead they back peddled and removed them all added a bunch of simplistic ones and called it a update with a bunch of new filters!!! nope... we got screwed.

Do not buy its nothing now but a very very very very basic editor that isnt worth more the a dollar or two at most.

While the editing tools are simple yet powerful, the software is incredibly prone to crashes. For the first week or so that I had CameraBag, it would crash either immediately after start-up or when attempting to load RAW/DNG files. Once that issue was resolved, it crashed whenever attempting to save an edited photo.

Quite a nice software to tinker around your photos and illustrations.
It's totally worth it in my opinion.

Of course for such a low price don't expect something to rival an Adobe software's complexity, but don't disregard it either it can achieve amazing results too.

A wonderful little program that I have really enjoyed using. It can be used with other programs like Photoshop but it does a nice little job on its own. The user interface is really well done and makes it easy to navigate. I really like how it shows alot of photo's with the many effects it can do with the photo. You can add so many affects to one photo its nuts. It really puts a unique style into each photo that you edit. The downside to this program is that you can't do all the things you want to do with each photo but can do the simple things in each project. I wish there was more borders to play with, but the borders now are fun to have. There is alot you can do with this program but it does take some time to get used to it all. This is a great program and I am really enjoying it to its fullest. If you enjoy editing photos and want a simple to use program to do it in then get this fun photo editing program.
